Trina and Bia
a short play

T: Sorceress Bia (Bia glances up). Your time is running short. We have news that the Under Kingdom is moving against us.

B: Princess, I am doing my best to create a being to help you; something powerful enough to stop even an isomorphic drake. You have to realize that Air is not the easiest element to work with.

T: (sneer) You're in no hurry, are you?

B: (grin, mock politeness) You see through me, Highness.

T: Well, while you dawdle, my kingdom is coming closer and closer to being consumed by a hateful flame! I might be a spoilt princess in the eyes of the rest of the world, and I might be lavished with luxury, but I care for my kingdom enough to try and stop this war! After reading your books on magic, alchemy, and divination, I held more respect for you than the silly court mages. So I enlisted your help, but I think now you came only for the money offered. So, you waste our time and resources on something I could accomplish in half the time!

B: Oh yes, your inherited power, Lady Trina, I would have more confidence in you if you did not stamp your pampered feet and whinney like a mare in heat!

T: Oh, Saints and Watchtowers! You will be the downfall of the Stratic Realm! I should banish you and take over this project myself.

B: But you don't have the time, do you? Besides, you don't have the faintest idea how to harness this power, do you? You can perform a few parlor tricks, nothing more impressive than that of your court mages, but you KNOW you can do better, and not having enough knowledge torments you!

T: I think that should be obvious by now.

B: You hate having to ask my help, don't you?

T: At least I can admit defeat. (Sigh) We do need your help.

B: Do you know the problem with the Stratic Realm? You're not unified. Your particles float like a lazy mountain breeze, to be inhaled by your enemies, and exhaled tainted and disgusting!

T: I bid you remember the power I inherited!

B: Oh, bite your tongue or I'll rip it out! I hate the Elemental Dynasties, all of you! None of you can begin to comprehend what I could do to you! I hate having the power I have.

T: Sorceress, you can stop the Under Kingdom if you help us. Put an end to their Elemental Dynasty. Stop the war! Your power won't be exploited any longer!

B: A pretty speech, Your Majesty. I cannot help you, since you do not want my help. However (pulls out a box) if you can understand this box, I will return to help.
