A Lyran fleet from the Red Claw Duchy was patrolling along the edge of the Graygor Asteroid Field which formed part of a border with Kzinti space. One of the ships picked up several warp signatures from within the field and decided to investigate. The Lyran captain hurriedly sent the alarm to his comrades when he discovered a Kzinti ship was trying to penetrate the field. By the time the rest of the Lyran fleet arrived, so did the rest of the Kzinti.
