The female angel grins, glad for the oppertunity to create a bit of chaos. She peers out the window for a moment before hoping onto the ledge and standing in the window.
Joey's already up by the time Changeling offers her hand, he follows her to the door. He pauses for a moment, looking out the window with his expression unreadable.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 4:57 pm
She glances at his face, wondering mutely what he was thinking, before opening the door and descending the stairs to the first floor. Whens she gets to the unlocked side door she pauses, waiting for a little distraction to take place outside.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 5:02 pm
Sky turns off the projection, standing in the window in her real form. Anyone watching would see her start to shrink until she's not much larger then a raven. She stands on the sill for a moment longer before leaping into the air with a good impression of a crows caw.
Kat blinks as something jumps out of the open window above her, and then ducks as it goes zipping by her head. Her ears flatten to her skull as she tries to figure out what just dove on her. Had she just disturbed some birds nest?
Sky is rather intrigued by the girls speed. There wasn't much that should be able to dodge her dives aside from other immortals, and the girl below her definetly was not immortal. However there was something strange about her. Oh well, it was a moot point anyway, she wasn't trying to hurt her, just distract her a bit.
Joey watches Sky dive out the window, smiling faintly at her crow impression. He felt kind of bad about leaving. Kat and Kanga were only worried about him. The silver haired teen follows silently, standing at the door just behind Changeling.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 5:10 pm
She notices something in Joeys expression, reading it correctly somehow "We're not leaving them, you know..." When she's fairly sure Sky's created enough commotion, she opens the door and peers out, surveying the scene and looking for either of the two girls.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 5:13 pm
Kat's on the building swiping at Sky as the blue angel dive bombs her. Kanga is standing on the sidewalk shouting questions and encouragement. Well, standing is a relative term. Each of her agitated bounces sends her a good foot into the air.
Joey half smiles listening to the noise. He could tell that Sky was having a great time.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 5:18 pm
She trys not to giggle watching Kat dodge and swat at Sky, and wonders if she'd rather not just watch instead of 'rescuing' the two girls from the 'angry bird'.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 5:21 pm
"Arg!! This stupid thing won't leave me alone!" Kat calls down to Kanga as she scrambles along the surface of the wall with Sky in hot pursuit.
The noise comming from the bird changes faintly as Sky comments rather indignantly on the 'stupid' remark.
Kanga blinks up at the bird, that thing sure was strange. She bounces along beneath Kat, wishing she could do something.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 5:24 pm
She watches, trying not to laugh, just outside the door and moves away slightly so Joey can see the action.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 5:29 pm
"You're a cat, surely you can handle a bird!" Kanga can't resist shouting up.
Kat glares at her. "I'd like to see you do better!" The feline mutant is still busy scrabbling around on the wall like a bug trying to escape being squashed.
"Why don't you come down? Then maybe it'll leave you alone!" Kanga shouts to Kat.
Sky chuckles, yeah right!
Joey chuckles as well at that comment. Sky? Leave them alone simply beacuse they'd moved off the building? No way.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 5:31 pm
Her smile broadens and she opens the door a little further and stands outside, trying to catch their attention with the movement. Maybe they'd catch on and come trowards the door... then again, maybe not.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 5:34 pm
Kat scampers towards them, running along the wall of the building on all fours. Sky's not far behind. Kanga is bouncing along behind.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 5:40 pm
She watches her approach, then steps back inside, leaving the door open and waits with a slight smile on her face.

Posted by Kat and Kanga on 1/10/2002, 5:43 pm
Kat looks back to see how close Sky is and she doesn't see the opening of the doorway coming. Her hand meets thin air and she tumbles into the building with a very catlike noise of surprise. "Owie." She says with a faint whimper.
Kanga blinks as her friend disappears. "Kat? You okay?" She calls worriedly as she bounces towards the door.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 5:49 pm
She's a little surprised, and rushes to see if Kat's alright. When she reaches her she touches her shoulder and asks "You okay?" at the same time Kanga does.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 5:57 pm
"Ouch. Thank goodness for baggy clothes and fur!" Kat untangles herself, not realizing who's just touched her shoulder. "Yeah, I think I'm okay." She still hasn't looked up, she's checking herself over. At least all her limbs still worked, and she hadn't landed on her mail tube.
Joey blinks, faintly annoyed with himself for not moving sooner and catching Kat before she hit the ground. At least it sounded like she was okay. He kinda floats worriedly in the background, unintentionally blocking the view from the door.
Kanga hops in, spoting Joey right away. She grins at the sight of the silver haired teen. "Joey! Am I glad to see you!" She bounces forward, towards her friend.
Sky wings in behind, looking sheepish. She hadn't meant for that to happen.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 6:03 pm
She extends a hand up instinctively, not remembering that Kat didn't trust her. After a quick glance around when Kanga enters she guesses that there isn't much damage done -other than Kat falling through the doorway, that is.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 6:07 pm
Joey looks up at Kanga with a blink as he resists the urge to back away. For a moment there it had almost looked like the roo girl was gona tackle him. When Kanga stops a short distance away he smiles faintly. " It's nice too see you too, Kanga."
Sky wings out for a moment an returns a second later full size with her projector on. She stands watching from the doorway, not wanting to get in the way.
Kat finishes studying her hands and looks up, nearly fainting at the sight of Changeling standing over her. She squeaks and scrambles backwards, running into the wall a moment later. If the projector would have been off one would have been able to see that Kat's tail is all fluffed out and her fur is standing up.
Kanga blinks at the squeak, wondering if her friend had discovered a nasty gash or something. She bounces a bit closer and spots Changeling all her fur stands as well.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 6:14 pm
When Kat squeaks and backs away she looks confuzed, turning to glance at Kanga's reaction as well. After a moment, she realizes that she's not as accepted by these two as by the two angels she'd been keeping company with and a look of disappointment and resignment comes across her face. She backs away from them, eyes downcast, and wonders if they'll ever at least get used to her. She wasn't a vampire any more, but that scene in their home probably didn't help her case very much.
Something at the back of her mind wonders how they knew to find Joey here, but she sets it aside for later, when they'd actually answer her if she asked. At the moment, she doubed they would.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 6:20 pm
Kat goes up the wall, feeling somewhat safer being up high. Kanga doesn't seem to know what to do, she just stands there fur on end.
Joey's eyes narrow faintly as he watches the reactions of the two girls, and Changeling backing away. How to fix this?
Sky rolls her eyes. This was an interesting situation. She steps into the middle of the room. Joey had moved in Changeling's direction and the two girls where standing against the wall. She was center stage. "None of that." She says to the two girls, her tone faintly admonishing.
"But, but." Kanga splutters, having got her voice back.
Sky just looks at her. It was amazing how impressive a look from the small angel could be.
Kanga falls silent, her fur still on end.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 6:25 pm
She glances up when Sky speaks and her eyes dart to Kanga's reaction to the look. She waits silently, hugging herself, trying to look small and harmless.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 6:31 pm
"Now why don't we all relax?" Sky suggests, one eyebrow raised as she sweeps the entire room with her brown glance, paying special attention to Joey and the two girls. "You people are all too tense." In fact she was rather surprised by just how tense Joey was, it seemed to be more then a simple reaction to the posibility of the half-vamp getting attacked. Iiinteresting.
Kat and Kanga just blink. Who the heck was this woman?
Sky grins, "You can call me Sky." She says to the two girls with a chuckle.
Kat and Kanga blink again. Ooh great, a telepath.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 6:33 pm
Her head comes up a bit more as she speaks and she watches the reactions of the two girls, wondering if even Sky can talk them down.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 6:41 pm
Sky notes that the two girls were still wound up, even Joey wasn't relaxing much. "Oh come on! What do I have to do get you two to relax? You're as tense as two cats in a room full of rocking chairs."
Kanga looks at Kat, eyebrows raised. Kat can't help giggling a bit as she absently flicks her white and green tail.
Sky raises an eyebrow at them both. She wasn't sure what she'd said that was funny, but if it got rid of the tension in the room she didn't care. "Now, you come off the roof." She says refering to Kat. "And you.." She says, turning her brown gaze at Kanga. " Just relax, K?"
Reluctantly Kat returns to the floor. It was obvious she was ready to jump back up if Changeling so much as twitched in her direction.
Sky nods in satisfaction, much better. Now if she could just get Joey to relax a bit. She saunters over to the other angel. She just stands, staring at him for a moment.
Joey blinks. What was that for?

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 6:58 pm
Even she can't help the small smile that tugs at the corners of her mouth. She watches with wide eyes as the small angel finally gets Kat and Kanga somewhat calmed down, and wonders what she's doing to Joey. If she hadn't been so preocupied, she might have worried, but right now it was all she could to to take her wide, uncomfortable nervous eyes off of the two girls.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 7:04 pm
Joey just blinks and eventually looks away. He's making a visible effort to relax.
Sky smiles as if she'd won something, then turns her brown gaze on Changeling. "You could relax a bit too yah know." She says kindly. "I don't think Joey would let anything hurt you even if those two where predisposed to violence."
Joey just blinks again. He was an angel, he wasn't supposed to let anyone hurt anyone. What was with that comment?
Kat and Kanga watch Changeling as nervously as she watches them.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 7:10 pm
Changeling nods slightly and takes a deep, steadying breath. She eyes the girls and manages a small smile for Sky.

Posted by Various on 1/10/2002, 7:15 pm
Sky smiles back, then turns her attentions back to Kat and Kanga. "I'm afriad I didn't catch your names."
The two introduce themselves, still studying Changeling nervously.
Sky rolls her eyes, her paitence at it's limit. "Really you two, don't you see she's just as paraniod around you two as you seem to be around her? Doesn't the presence of Joey and myself prove that she's not out for blood?"
They both blink sheepishly.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 7:18 pm
She relaxes a little more and smiles at Sky's words and glances at Joey out of the corner of her eye.

Posted by Joey on 1/10/2002, 7:21 pm
Joey's standing silently off to one side. He looks more relaxed then he had before, but his expression is unreadable.
Sky glances around, looking amused. "Okay. Now that we've got that settled, what do we do now?" Her tone indicated that it'd better be settled.

Posted by Changeling on 1/10/2002, 7:38 pm
Changeling nods, then looks around, absolutely at a loss. She hadn't really planned do anything, so...

Posted by Joey on 1/14/2002, 4:37 pm
He remembers something and eyes Kat and Kanga. "So how did you two end up here?"
Both girls look faintly uneasy for a moment, exchanging glances.

Posted by Changeling on 1/14/2002, 4:38 pm
She blinks, remembering her previous curiosity about that very thing, and waits for their answer.

Posted by Various on 1/14/2002, 4:44 pm
Joey waits for an answer.
Kat waits for Kanga to explain, she wasn't the one with the crush on Joey.
Realizing that Kat wasn't about to tell the tale, Kanga explains as best she can. "We ran into this lady and she showed us where to find you."
Since Kanga doesn't sound like she's about to go on, Kat continues. "She just kinda popped outa the shadows. I dunno how, but she knew we were looking for you. She pulled this thing out of her pocket, pressed a few buttons and sha-bang, your location popped up." Kat shakes her head. "She was really... strange."

Posted by Changeling and Tracker on 1/14/2002, 4:57 pm
She blinks That's an interesting story... I wonder if it's true. she thinks vaguely. The majority of her thought process at the moment is taken up with the effort of relaxing. Her vampire half had rebelled at her nervousness a few moments ago, why should she have to be frightened of such insignificant food items? Even if they posed any kind of threat, she could smell the fear on them.
Tracker raises one invisible eyebrow when they tell how they'd found the warehouse. Strange that it sounded so familiar... He wonders if it's the same person that contacted him earlier. He takes out the device she'd given him and brings up the displays again, just to be sure it still worked, then slips it back in his pocket.

Posted by Various on 1/14/2002, 5:17 pm
Joey and Sky turn to study Changeling worriedly for a moment. Neither could read her thoughts, but both could sense the way they were going. Joey is just plain old worried about the entire situation. He wished that everyone could just get along.
Sky's worry is more focused. Eliza's tendency to switch back to vamp at the slightest provocation was a bit disturbing. Someday she might end up freaking out on someone for no real reason. The blue angel really hoped that the half vamp would be able to control her other side with a bit of experience. Things didn't bode well if she didn't get a better handle on her other half.
Sensing the sudden tension in the two angels, Kat and Kanga blink worriedly. Kat was quite ready to go home. Joey seemed to be safe around Eliza, but she wasn't sure she would be. Something in her manner made the cat-girl nervous. This entire situation set her fur on end.
Kanga is just tense, studying Changeling with narrowed eyes. What had possessed Joey to make friends with a vampire that was obviously dangerous? She knew that the silver haired teen was far from being the brightest crayon in the box, but she thought he would have more sense then that!
Sky starts asking questions, this was her concern too and Joey was too distracted to be even think of asking helpful questions. "So what did this woman look like?"
Kat shrugs and answers, knowing that Kanga was sick of the subject. "Well, the strangest thing about her were her eyes. They were silver and.." She pauses for a moment, trying to figure out how to explain. "They rotated sorta."

Posted by Changeling and Tracker on 1/14/2002, 5:35 pm
No, she thought at the vamp half of her mind, They're not food. Besides, it's your fault they're afraid... It answers with a sense of indifference about their feelings -as entres- and Changeling desperately trys to reason with the vampire in her.
If they are that frightened of me, there's no reason they'd react violently...
What about that homeless guy? The vamp half tries to bring up the painful images of that night, but Changeling shoves them aside Do they really look that big or dangerous?
Not in the least...
Then why be threatened by them?
...
She finally feels herself truly relax, but it's an uneasy confidence. All she could do right now was convince her vampire half that if the two tried anything she'd be able to take care of herself. She sighs quietly, feeling the last bit of tension in her fade, and glances more confidently at Sky with a small smile.
Tracker focises his attention on Kat's partial description and nods to himself. Yup, same lady. He shrugs mentally. Heck, if she wanted to, she could equip all of New York with that information. Didn't bother him in the least. He sits back and continues to observe the little get-together with bland curiousity.

Posted by Sky and Kat on 1/14/2002, 5:43 pm
The blue angel is glad to note the sudden fade of Changeling's vampire presense. It was good to know that the girl had some form of control. Sky thinks, her narrowed eyes focused on the floor. What an interesting can of worms this was. She'd have to keep an eye out for the lady with silver rotating eyes.
Kat is really ready to leave, the situation, the area, the company all made her nervous, and she wasn't sure that Kanga wasn't about to try something dumb. The look on her friends projected twelve year old face was yet another thing that made her nervous.

Posted by Changeling on 1/14/2002, 5:54 pm
She trys not to smile too wide at the two girls and rocks back and forth slightly with her hands behind her back, bored. Now that she was rid of her fear (or atleast her vamp half) she wonders why the other two don't either go or relax. It's not like she's going to attack them or anything... but of course, they don't know that. She sighs and glances around and suddenly remembers how late it is with a massive yawn. When she's finished, she blushes and glances around the circle of 'guests' sheepishly, mumbling a quick "Sorry..."

Posted by Kat and Kanga on 1/14/2002, 6:00 pm
Kat takes this as an opportunity to leave. "Kanga, maybe we should go. It's late, I'm sure everyone wants to get some sleep. I know I'm tired." She yanks on her friends arm, just wanting to go before her roo-girl does something idiotic.
Kanga looks at Kat and nods. "Yeah, okay." Her glance turns to Changeling, Sky and Joey. "Bye Joey, guess we'll see you tomorrow or something. Nice meeting you Sky." She hops towards the door, then outside.
Kat blinks, wondering if her friend had intentionally snubbed Eliza or if she was just being forgetful. The vampire might make her nervous, but that was no reason to be rude. "Bye Joey, Sky, Eliza." She follows her friend out the door, her invisible tail twitching.

Posted by Changeling on 1/14/2002, 6:10 pm
She watches Kanga leave with a troubled expression on her face, her own thoughts unconciously mimicking Kats. When Kat says her goodbies -and includes Changeling- she smiles warmly at her, even though the cat girl was probably only being polite.

Posted by Kat and Kanga on 1/14/2002, 6:18 pm
Kat smiles back somewhat hesitently, then tries to catch up to Kanga. The roo-girl was hopping along rather quickly and it takes the feline mutant a moment to catch up. "What was that about?" Kat asks when she finally catches up.
Kanga raises an eyebrow at her. "What was what all about?" Her words float down to those still in the building, clearly audible.
"Not saying good-bye to Eliza." Kat says, sounding faintly exasperated and faintly puzzled.
"Oh? I didn't say goodbye to her? Whoops." Kanga's words don't match her tone. She doesn't sound anywhere near apologetic, just sullen.
Kat just blinks, mildly shocked by her friends attitude. "No, you didn't. It was a bit rude, yah know."
Kanga shrugs. "Whoops."

Posted by Changeling on 1/14/2002, 6:26 pm
She smiles again, somewhat sadly when she hears a few snatches of the conversation before they're out of hearing range. But then again, she hadn't given either of them reason to trust her, or even be nice to her before, so why expect common courtesy? She sighs slightly, too tired at the moment to worry about anything.

Posted by Sky and Joey on 1/14/2002, 6:30 pm
Sky looks after the two girls, her expression most resembling a sigh. She shakes her head, as if snapping herself out of something. "I think I'll head out too, but I'd like to talk to Joey for a moment..." She trails off.
Joey blinks, wondering what's with the preamble, couldn't she just say what she wanted to say? Then it hits him, ooh she meant privately. Aie, this didn't bode well.

Posted by Changeling on 1/14/2002, 6:34 pm
She smiles at Sky, then heads back upstairs with one last backwards glance at Joey before disappearing around a corner and into the office. She takes her usual place in the corner and shifts into a bobcat-type feline, well suited for cold weather. She wouldn't be able to hear any of the angels' conversation, since the office was built to keep out the noise of machinery opperating below.

Posted by Joey on 1/14/2002, 6:36 pm
Joey and Sky talk for awhile. The silver haired teen eventually comes up the stairs, curling up in his own spot.

Posted by Changeling on 1/14/2002, 6:40 pm
She stirrs awake when he arrives, watching him cross the room with fiery amber eyes.

Posted by Joey on 1/14/2002, 6:43 pm
He's not even aware of her gaze on him. Joey's expression is particularly distant, but otherwise is blank.

Posted by Changeling on 1/14/2002, 6:45 pm
She smiles faintly, then bares a pair of normal cat sabres in a yawn before stretching and going back to sleep.

Posted by Joey on 1/14/2002, 6:46 pm
The sun starts to rise, Joey is absent as usual, still where-ever he disappeared to when he vanished.

Posted by Changeling on 1/14/2002, 6:54 pm
She yawns and stretches, then opens the window and moves where the small patch of sunlight would shine through. She smiles as she drowses, twitching in cattish fashion with half-dreams.

Posted by Joey on 1/14/2002, 6:55 pm
He remains absent, as usual.

Posted by Changeling on 1/14/2002, 6:57 pm
As the sunlight reaches her, she stretches luxuriously and spreads a pair of golden wings to catch the most warmth. She doesn't particularly note his absense, since she was used to Joey sleeping in.

Posted by Joey on 1/14/2002, 6:58 pm
He remains absent for a good deal longer then usual. When he finally does arrive in the real world in a explosion of irridesent feathers he looks tired, like he hadn't slept.

Posted by Changeling on 1/14/2002, 7:01 pm
She starts when he appears, and cocks her head, curiously worried at his seeming lack of sleep.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 4:25 pm
The silver haired teen yawns and stretches. Flipping his wings closed he stands. He plunks himself down, as much of him in the sun as possible.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 4:27 pm
She stretches again, opening her wings as well, and moves a little to the side for him, leaving more sunlight open.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 4:29 pm
He scoots into the space left for him with a yawn. "Thanks."

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 4:32 pm
She grins at him toothily, then cocks her head "What was that all about, last night with Sky?" she pauses "Unless it's something you'd rather not discuss...?" she doesn't want to press him for answers, but she was curious.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 4:34 pm
"Hrm?" He's half asleep. "Oh, she just had some stuff to review.."

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 4:40 pm
She nods, figuring that it was stuff she wasn't supposed to know anyway, but the cat curiousity in her is burning to know. She can't stop herself from asking "Stuff?"

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 4:41 pm
He half smiles. "Yeah, stuff."

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 4:55 pm
She nods and leaves the subject alone. A sudden thought occurs and she smiles "So, what sort of mischeif shall we get ourselves into today?"

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 4:56 pm
Joey had almost fallen asleep, it takes him a moment to answer. "Not a clue, any ideas?"

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 5:00 pm
She shrugs, still smiling, and leaves him alone so he can get some sun in peace. She sighs contentedly.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 5:01 pm
Makes an effort to stay awake for awhile, in case Changeling asked him anything else. When he figures that she's fallen quiet for now he drifts off.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 5:06 pm
She remains half awake, drowsing in the sunny window. Her tail switches back and forth, and her ears unconciously follow every sound outside. After a while she opens one amber eye, stretches, and goes to the window. She's hungry again but doesn't want to wake Joey to go eat, so she watches the people outside crossing in front of the alley to take her mind off her stomache.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 5:07 pm
Is snoring quietly.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 5:11 pm
She sighs when her tummy grumbles, and glances back at the snoozing Joey, wondering why he is still visible.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 5:13 pm
Yawns and stretches as he realizes that he shouldn't be sleeping through the day and wakes up.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 5:22 pm
She smiles at him, and shimmers to her human form. "Good morning," she comments mirthfully.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 5:24 pm
"Good morning to you too." He replies, still not fully awake.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 5:30 pm
She glances back out the window "So, are you gonna sleep in any longer, or shall we go see if we can scrounge up any breakfast?"

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 5:31 pm
Smiles somewhat sheepishly. "I think I'm done sleeping."

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 5:37 pm
She beams back and turns to the door, then stops and looks down at her clothing, which is the same as before, a short skirt and her cloak. She frowns thoughtfully, then she shimmers a little and a new outfit appears on her. Jeans capris, tenis shoes, and a pale cream off-the-shoulder blouse that brings out her new tan nicely. She grins happily and returns to the door, opening it to go outside.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 5:40 pm
And he thought he had interesting clothing! He chuckles quietly at this thought. This clothing might be able to heal holes and remain clean no matter what it went through, but it couldn't do that! Adjusting his trench coat he follows her out.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 5:46 pm
She continues on to the dor out of the warehouse, then strolls down the alley to the street and stops, glancing around for a promising restaurant.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 5:51 pm
Follows quietly.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 6:01 pm
She pauses, glancing back and waiting for him to catch up "So, where do you suggest we go?"

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 6:04 pm
Joey catches up and shrugs. "I dunno." He says cheerfully.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 6:07 pm
She considers, "Hmm... lets go that way," she suggests, pointing up the street towards the denser population "There should be something in there somewhere."

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 6:10 pm
The silver haired teen nods in agreement. "Sounds good ta me."

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 6:30 pm
She smiles back, then leads the way down town.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 6:36 pm
Continues to follow along, studying the people that go by in absent interest.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 6:44 pm
She strides along confidently, catching many the eye of a passing member of the opposite gender with her casual, if not somewhat forbidding beauty.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 6:51 pm
Strides along quietly behind, hands in the pockets of his trench coat.

Posted by Changeling and Tracker on 1/15/2002, 7:00 pm
She pauses in front of a small, somwhat familiar looking diner and smiles, glancing at Joey before leading the way in and waiting to be seated.
Tracker had risen just before dawn to continue his observation, ticking one dy off of his meeting with Eva. He'd followed them down to the street and decided that he's hungry enough to come out of hiding for a while. Fresh in his mind is the discussion he'd spied on las night, but for some reason it's fading like a dream. He shrugs and continues to follow the two on their way to breakfast untill they enter the little diner. He watches them enter and be seated, then stops at the caffe across the street and comes out of his sheild to order a cup of coffe and a hearty breakfast.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 7:04 pm
He studies the diner with a faint sigh. He really wished that the diner was still in one peice and not rumble on a lot. He follows her in, faintly spaced out.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 7:15 pm
When they're seated, she glances at the menu before setting it down and regarding Joey with a somewhat worried expression. "Did you need more sleep? Only, you're not usually this... spacy..." she raises one eyebrow.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 7:19 pm
It takes him a moment to look up, he really is spaced out. "Huh? Sleep? Oh, nah. I'm okay.. Just thinking..."

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 7:24 pm
She makes a sour face, then shrugs and returns to her menu. She didn't mind being kept in the dark; she was used to secrets, but for some reason his distance was a little disturbing.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 7:28 pm
He shrugs apologectically, making an effort to stay in the real world rather then going back to being spaced out. "Sorry."

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 7:32 pm
"It's alright..." she says, then smiles playfully "But sometimes you worry me," her smile grows.
Tracker watches them from across the street over his breakfast.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 7:35 pm
He half smiles, he'd heard that before. " I seem to have that effect on lots of people."

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 7:41 pm
She laughs and shakes her head "Funny, so do I..." she comments, remembering last night's 'encounter'.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 7:45 pm
He's gone spacy again, but makes an effort to haul himself back when he realizes he's done so. He didn't know quite what to say to that comment.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 7:51 pm
She chuckles and decides on what she'll be having for breakfast as the waitress arrives to take her order. She glaces at Joey and asks if he wants anything.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 7:53 pm
Shakes his head. "No thanks, I'm fine." Considering that he'd just spent an hour in the sun, he should be.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 8:02 pm
She nods and the waitress moves away. Changeling glances around at the other patrons, still not completely used to so many people around her. It was only a little nerve wracking that she'd spent so many years in darkness and solitude, to emerge into light and life suddenly. The vampire in her still didn't like it, walking around in broad daylight, not hunting, with so many other people, but there was really nothing it could do about it. At all.
She sighs and closes her eyes, rolling her head back to ease a neck cramp.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 8:05 pm
Tilts his head at her, his fingers tapping out an absent rhythm on the tabletop.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 8:11 pm
Her eyes are still closed as she trys to massage the back of her neck with her fingers. She opens her eyes to gaze up at the ceiling with a sigh, then turns back to Joey, raising an eyebrow curiously at his gaze.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 8:13 pm
He just blinks.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 8:17 pm
She smiles slightly, but there's a tint of sadness in her eyes. She must've felt it, for a second later she looks away, remembering what she was going to tell him before. This would be as good a time as any...

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 8:19 pm
Studies her silently, wondering what that was all about.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 8:32 pm
"Joey... why do you stay with me?" she asks him hesitantly, looking away from him as she speaks.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 8:38 pm
He blinks, tilting his head as he ponders that question. There were lots of reasons, none of which he could really explain.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 8:56 pm
She glances at him in the silence that follows, wondering what the answer could be that he's considering it so intently.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 9:06 pm
He sits, trying to figure out a way to explain. He absently wished that his sporadic telepathy would actually work when he wanted it to once and awhile. "Well." He starts off slowly with something less personal. "Not having to sleep on a park bench is nice." He pauses there for a moment. "And I enjoy your company." Well, that only sounded completely stupid. He wasn't going to mention the last reason, that he was supposed to keep an eye on her. There was little he could do if she did loose control of her vamp half, but they seemed to think that his presence might balance it out somehow.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 9:20 pm
She nods at the first explanation, having expected something like it, but pauses in her thought process at the second one. He... enjoys my company...? she blinks, somewhat confusedly, then refuses to accept it. But for the fact that she had a feeling that angels weren't predisposed to lying, she'd think that maybe the only reason he stayed was because he was supposed to keep track of the half vamp that she was. She sits for long moments, not wanting to think of what she'll have to say next, or his possible reactions to it. The waitress stops by and delivers her breakfast and Changeling manages a smile and a mumbled "Thank you," for her. She stares at her plate, then finally looks back up at Joey "Why?" she asks bluntly "I've caused you nothing but pain. I got you killed, I've frightened your friends witless, twice," she stops there looking at him helplessly, the question burning in her dark eyes.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 9:27 pm
"A lot of people have gotten me killed, some have even tried to do it themselves. Pain is part of the job. If by my own suffering I can ease someone else's it's easier to bear. Certainly better then suffering for no particular reason.." Which he also seemed to have an talent for doing.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 9:31 pm
She listens intently, more than a little concern showing on her face as he explains.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 9:33 pm
He shrugs, he was horrible with words and he knew it. "It's what I do." He finishes.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 9:43 pm
She soaks it in, turning to her plate with a small, timid smile on her face. Well, it's over... she thinks as she munches on her waffles ...and atleast he did't leave... but she wasn't all that sure how she felt about that. On one hand, she would have missed his company terribly. But then again, she'd most likely only cause him more difficulties... she decided that he could go wherever he pleased, and would for all she knew, but while he was around, she'd be grateful. The stress had been getting to her, which was probably the reason behind that annoying cramp.
In the end, she figures that she might as well stop worrying about his leaving and finishes her waffles, eggs and sausage (which she still thinks look like fingers). She pushes her plate back and sips on her orange juice, her gaze flitting toward Joey frequently as she thought about him.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 9:46 pm
He simply sits, spending the same amount of time staring off into space as he does studying Changeling .

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 9:54 pm
The waitress returns and presents them with a bill, then waits a moment to see if they were ready to pay yet, or stay a moment longer. Changeling glances at Joey, since that he has the money.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 9:56 pm
He had been completely lost in thought. When he realizes that Changeling's looking at him he blinks, digging in the pocket of the trench coat for the money. He hands it to Changeling.

Posted by Changeling on 1/15/2002, 10:03 pm
She takes the money and peels off a couple of bills, enough to pay for the tab and tip, then hands the wad of cash back to Joey. The look on the waitresses face when Joey produced the money makes Changeling smile. She wonders what the girl thinks of him as she turns a corner. After a glance at Joey's face, she knows. Someone that out of it with that much money... it practically screamed dealer. So someone who didn't know him, that is. She wonders idly what the waitress must think of her now, laughing quietly at what she comes up with from the experience of her years and knowledge of human reasoning.

Posted by Joey on 1/15/2002, 10:19 pm
Joey looks up at the laugh, he'd gone back to being completely spaced out after putting the cash back in his trench coat. Why was he even carrying the money anyway? He didn't need it.
What anyone else might think of his roll of cash, or what they might think when he simply hands the whole wad over to Changeling doesn't occur to him. He hadn't even noticed the look on the waitresses face. He saw things as simple truths, not what other people might mistakenly believe.

Posted by Changeling on 1/16/2002, 3:02 pm
She stands when he looks up "Lets go for a walk. Maybe it'll help you think about whatever you're trying so hard to concentrate on." she comments with a grin. A bit of flying might not hurt either, but she wanted to see things in the daylight and all flying over a deserted beach did was make her tan. She decides that today she wants to go places and see things.

Posted by Joey on 1/16/2002, 4:34 pm
He stands, grining back somewhat sheepishly. "Sure."

Posted by Changeling and Tracker on 1/17/2002, 4:08 pm
Changeling nods, and leads the way out of the diner, and onto the busy streets. She heads into the more populated areas.
Tracker watches them from the caffe across the street as they exit, and marks their direction. He pulls out the holo of Joey's location and traces his finger along a line indicating the street they were on. Hmm, if they keep on this heading... he frowns to himself, absently paying his bill and tossing a few coins on the table for a tip as he rises. As soon as he figures that no one's watching, he re-enters his sheild and tails the two invisibly again.

Posted by Joey on 1/17/2002, 4:35 pm
He follows along, still spaced out but not nearly as bad as before.

Posted by Changeling on 1/17/2002, 4:44 pm
She strolls by his side, glancing about with a look akin to awe. To an outsider she might have been seen as a tourist, she was so attentive.

Posted by Joey on 1/17/2002, 4:49 pm
He sticks his hands in the pockets of his trench coat. Blinking he pulls out a small chocolate bar. The silver haired teen can't help grinning. He'd completely forgotten about all the Halloween candy he'd gotten. Munching happily he offers the next bar he pulls out of his pocket to Changeling. "Want one?"

Posted by Changeling on 1/17/2002, 5:00 pm
She laughs, realizing that she'd forgotten about her candy also "Sure," she accepts the proffered bar and peels back the wrapper, taking a small bite to taste it.

Posted by Joey on 1/17/2002, 5:01 pm
Hauls out another bar for himself. Yum, chocolate..

Posted by Changeling on 1/17/2002, 5:17 pm
She smiles at the taste and takes a bigger bite, gazing around at the sights with wide, curious eyes.

Posted by Joey on 1/17/2002, 5:20 pm
Happily munches chocolate bars, smiling at Changeling's expression.

Posted by Changeling and Tracker on 1/17/2002, 6:12 pm
Changeling grins broadly and licks the chocolate remnants off of her fingers happily. Chocolate was good.
Tracker follows the two boredly, wondering why that lady wanted to know about the boy in the first place. He sighs and watches them. At least he was being paid.

Posted by Joey on 1/17/2002, 6:16 pm
The amount of stuff Joey can keep in his coat pockets is amazing. Forks, halos, and what appears to be half a candy store all stashed away in pockets that looked completely empty. Obliviously his coat was no normal coat, just like Joey was no normal teen.

Posted by Changeling on 1/17/2002, 6:36 pm
She grins and glances up at the halo, spinning above her head. She decides that she'd be alright without it, and reaches up to hand it back to Joey.

Posted by Joey on 1/17/2002, 6:38 pm
The silver haired teen is still chomping happily on his stash of Halloween candy.

Posted by Changeling on 1/17/2002, 6:46 pm
Changeling removes the halo and pauses for a moment, turning it in her hands, considering something. After a moment, she shakes her head and touches Joey on the arm to get his attention and offers the halo.

Posted by Joey on 1/17/2002, 6:52 pm
He'd glanced in her general direction when removes the halo, and was looking at her when she offered it to him. He tilts his head, wondering what she'd been pondering. "Oh right. Sure you don't need it anymore?" He says, taking it absently. He studies it warrily for a moment, as if he expected it to try something. Nothing happens and Joey shrugs mentally.

Posted by Changeling on 1/17/2002, 7:00 pm
She smiles "Not unless I get cold again later," She wonders why he's so cautious around the halo, so she asks.

Posted by Joey on 1/17/2002, 7:05 pm
"Okay." When she asks about the halo he smiles slightly, then acts like the golden hoop is trying to escape from his grasp and settle on his head. For a moment there, while the halo's near his head it almost looks like it is trying to escape Joey's grip. Someone studying him at the moment might notice how his eyes widen when that happens. He quickly puts it away, shoving it in a coat pocket. "Heh." Is his only comment.

Posted by Changeling on 1/17/2002, 7:11 pm
She almost laughs, thinking that he's acting, but doesn't when she realizes that he isn't. She blinks a couple of times, wondering aloud what in the world that was all about.

Posted by Joey on 1/17/2002, 7:13 pm
His half grin has a definite sheepish air about it. " I told you it does strange things when it's near my head.."

Posted by Changeling on 1/17/2002, 7:21 pm
She blinks again and her eyes widen slightly, then she grins "Gee, now I'm really curious!" she comments teasingly.

Posted by Joey on 1/17/2002, 7:23 pm
He grins back, even more sheepishly then before.

Posted by Changeling and Tracker on 1/17/2002, 9:19 pm
She laughs and continues on down the street again, glancing back and forth at the buildings and people they pass.
Tracker follows at a discreet distance, wondering why Changeling would want to hang around with Joey of all people. He wasn't much for intelligent conversation, something that he'd found the once-vampire enjoyed, he wasn't even much to look at since the tracery of scars didn't do much for one's appearance. He shrugs, he might as well get used to strangeness on the part of his partner. Or maybe ex-partner? He wondered. If Changeling knew what he was about, would she join him, help him deliver Joey to the lady, or would she refuse the job and accompanying payment in favor of her new-found friend? She'd been one for honor before, but where now did her loyalties lie?
This he ponders as he trails the two, trying to avoid walking through people (as his talent allowed him to become as immaterial as energy) because the experience tended to be uncomfortable.

Posted by Joey on 1/18/2002, 1:54 pm
The silver haired teen seems to be the focus of stares from many of the people around them. His silver hair and strange scars must be what was drawing the attention.

Posted by Changeling on 1/22/2002, 5:01 pm
After a while, she notices the attention he's getting from the passerby, and frowns in thought.

Posted by Joey on 1/22/2002, 5:21 pm
Not surprisingly the silver haired teen is completely oblivous to the attention he's recieving. He wasn't like Sky, who loved being the center of attention. If he would have noticed, he probably would have been faintly uncomfortable.

Posted by Changeling on 1/22/2002, 5:25 pm
She glances at the faces around them, finally deciding that they're non-hostile as of yet, and then turns to glance at Joey herself. What she sees makes her smile... the still-spaced-out Joey. After a moment, she returns to her tourisnm, gazing at trees, flowers, people, animals... just generally enjoying her time in the sun.

Posted by Joey on 1/22/2002, 5:29 pm
The constanly spaced out Joey seems to be more like it. Although he no longer looks tired, like he did after snapping back into the real world, he's still rather distant. The fact that he was trying to keep his mind on his surroundings and not his thoughts had completely slipped his mind. Erm, whoops?

Posted by Changeling on 1/22/2002, 5:35 pm
She smiles, her mind wandering from the outside to things she was reminded of about and back. She wonders about Tracker, then about what she thought was him last night, then Sky. Kat and Kanga pop up then, and she recalls their parting with some hope for better relations in the future.

Posted by Joey on 1/22/2002, 5:38 pm
His mind is mostly on the conversation he's had with Sky...

Posted by Changeling on 1/22/2002, 5:43 pm
She pauses a moment to admire a wildflower in someone's garden and smiles. Flowers were something she hadn't gotten the chance to see in a awfully long time...

Posted by Kat on 1/22/2002, 5:57 pm
A very familliar looking head of dark hair peeks out of the building just in front of them. Kat studies the street for a moment longer before stepping out into the traffic. She hated crowds, people had the nasty tendency to step on her tail.

Posted by Changeling on 1/22/2002, 6:03 pm
She doesn't notice her at first, but something at the edge of her vision catches her attention and she glances at the dark haired girl exiting the building. Changeling blinks, not having realized that they'd travled so far, then smiles at Kat.

Posted by Kat on 1/22/2002, 6:07 pm
She hasn't noticed Changeling or Joey either, she's still standing beside the building, watching the crowd warrily. When she final does spot the two, she notices Joey's hieght and silver hair first, then blinks when she spots Changeling's presence beside him. Eva hadn't been kidding when she said that the two were almost constant company. Then it hit her, Eliza was a vampire, how had she managed this one?
