Dear visitors,

I have reserved this space to introduce myself a little bit to all of you.
My name is Robin Bamps, I’m 20 years old
and I live in Erps-Kwerps / Kortenberg (near Brussels), just some 500 metres off the holdingpoint from BRU’s runway 25L. I graduated from High School (Human Sciences) at the Royal Atheneum in Zaventem in June 2006 and started studying "Applied Linguistics Dutch-German-English" at the Erasmus College  in Brussels afterwards. Next to my studies, I work at Brussels Airport as an aircraft interior cleaner at EAS (Aviapartner) in weekends and during the summer holidays.
My biggest hobby is of course planespotting, which I am doing since the 2001 summer season. One year earlier, I’d made my first ever flight (BRU-AYT on Air Alfa A321). From that moment on, aviation started interesting me very much.

When I started planespotting 7 years ago, I was still living in Hasselt (some 70 kilometres from Brussels) and my equipment was a stupid 105mm zoom camera. Later that year, I acquired a Minolta Dynax 404Si SLR camera, which served me well until the beginning of the year 2004. Since then, I’m working with a Canon EOS 300D digital SLR camera, currently with Canon EF
28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 USM and Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0L USM lenses.

I often visit airports abroad like Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris, mostly together with other spotters who have the luxury of a car. Although, my homebase is Brussels. Since I moved to Kortenberg in 2005, the airport is very nearby. A drive by bike to the nearest runway (25L) takes some 4 minutes. Out of my bedroom I can see runway 20 take-offs.

My pictures are regulary published in the Skyliner Aviation News magazine. In the past, pictures have also been published in Aero International, Luftfahrt Journal, Scramble and Piloot & Vliegtuig.
I was also interviewed by Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws and regional television channel
ROB in 2006. Additionaly, I was part of the editors team for the 2008 EuroJP and I contributed several of my pictures.

Apart from photography, I also collect several types of aviation gadgets. The biggest part of my collection consists of safety cards, timetables, bagage labels and boarding passes. But I also
collect other stuff like airsickness bags, sugar/creamer/salt/pepper packets,… all airline branded !

Thank you very much for visiting my website, and I hope you will do so in the future!

Best regards, Robin Bamps.
