| *Pilotka- with or without an original or reproduction subdued or enameled star, no incorrect postwar *Gymnastiorka- as the 37th Guards is a mid-war specific unit, the M35/43 transitional tunic is prefered, but the M35 and M43 are both acceptable, will need proper infantry field shoulder boards *Sharovari- avoid the late post-war breeches with the large cargo pockets *Boots- Jackboots- Soviet or East German Low boots- (with puttees) Soviet, "captured" German, "lend-lease" US/British, or post-war Swedish and Swiss *Telogreikas- the padded jacket can be worn alone or with the padded pants, it's easier to move with than the great coat. OR *Great Coat- the great coat can double as a blanket, make sure to remove the incorrect postwar insignia and buttons and either replace them or leave them absent Ushanka- at winter events the ushanka is a must, beware of many of the post-war patterns as the colors are often incorrect Guards Badge- for your first event the badge is not required, however by your second you should have at least a post-war one, if not a wartime one *Note on Buttons- make sure to have correct pattern buttons, many vendors will apply late post-war buttons which are highly inaccurate, the smallest details can make or break an impression, repros, originals, or converted postwar are all acceptable |
