Fraunces Tavern is the place where George Washington bid
farewell to his officers following the conclusion of the
Revolutionary War on Dec. 8, 1783. And on Feb. 22, 1836,
Texians celebrated George Washington’s birthday in San
Antonio de Bexar prior to the arrival of Santa Anna’s Army
during the Texas Revolution.
