The Books
About the Book:
Plot Summary: Janie's family is very poor, but not although their situation is manageable, it is not nearly are dire as the local school district's.  However, Janie's mother plans a knitting business where she will handknit sweaters with girls names on them which she will send to a specialty store.  After making a whole heck of a lot of sweaters, Janie's family is able to move into a new apartment in a better school district, where the kids are all varyingly rich.  Fortunately Janie's mother is planning to buy Janie better clothes, but the man at the specialty store refuses Janie's mom's sweaters when he can find a cheaper source, which cancel's plans for  new clothes.  Janie offers to wear the unsold names sweaters, something very awkward, claiming that they are her middle names, until the family can make more money.
My comments: ***  Okay, this books is written for little kids, but it is not as nearly as satisfying as others, but great for the level it is on.  The book is very good, though the worst part was the ending.  Because it is a young reader's book, it is extremely short.
