About the Book:
Plot Summary: This book is essentially a very modern sequel to Cinderella.  Ella, whose simple story of cunning planning to get in the ball has been altered by the media to the story we know, hasn't yet married Prince (not really that) Charming.  Life in the castle is dull, and servants take away all interests in activities, and every moment that she could have been using to get to know the Prince has been chaperoned.  Ella is quickly fed up in all this, and plots to escape the clutches of those who want to give the public a fairy tale.
My comments: ***  I've never been that fond of Cinderella stories, though this twist is quite unique.  Yay being your own person!  If you are looking for other takes on Cinderella, try I Was A Rat, by Philip Pullman or Ella Enchanted by Gail Carson Levine.
