The Asylum Theatre is comprised of a core group of theatre professionals from a variety of backgrounds. In addition, we collaborate with various artists from across the country on a project by project basis. The members of our core group include:

Artistic Director - Sarah O'Connell
Sarah O'Connell came from San Francisco where she served as the Assoc. Artistic Director of Impact Theatre. She holds a Master of Drama degree in Directing from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD). Her work has been performed through out the US, UK, Europe, and South America. Her past work has included several regional and world premiere productions, and she is an alumnus of the West coast Director's Lab. She has worked at a variety of professional companies including American Conservatory Theatre (ACT), TheatreWorks, the San Francisco Mime Troupe, and Glasgow’s Theatre Cryptic.

Consulting Director - Maggie Winn-Jones
The Asylum's Founding Artistic Director, Maggie Winn-Jones is a professional actor and director. She has worked with several regional and Off-Broadway companies including Stage West, Studio Arena, Folger Theatre, St. Louis Rep, the Eugene O'Neill Center, and Arena Stage. She has taught acting at the National Conservatory in Washington, D.C., and UNLV. Ms. Winn-Jones is also an announcer for KNPR, Nevada Public Radio.

Technical Director - Axis deBruyn
Axis deBruyn is an industry veteran with over 15 years of experience. Formerly the Assistant Technical Director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre, he is the president of Fata Morgana Productions, a production event consulting firm. A member of IATSE Stagehands Union Local 720, his lighting has been seen in North and South America, Europe and Asia.
