SIMON HOBART SHORT-AUTO BIO

"I started the KitCat on my 19th birthday in September 1983 (but it was then called the Flytrap, it changed name to KitCat 6 months later!!). The raid on the KitCat and arrested happened in Jan 1985 and I did a years probation. I closed the KitCat in 1989 after 6 years and 5 different venues and went on to open Bedrock, originally at Oxfords nightcluband then later moved onto the Marquee (there was a gap in between the closure of one and the next one opening). I DJ'd at Heaven's Pyramid club from oct 1986 till about early 1989. I also dj'd at Rage on thursdays at heaven leaving there to open Ballroom Blitz at the Hippodrome around April 1987. Around 1992 (in between Bedrock at Oxfords and Bedrock at the Marquee) I opened two major underground Drum and Bass nights - Fusion anmd Vivid both having capacities of about 1200 people! I started Popstarz on May 25th 1995 and it will be six this year. These are the major clubs I have run since I first started all those years ago - obviously there others but these are the most influential ones!" Simon Hobart - May 15th 2001 -
