The Buffers
Founded by  Les Torrens    (1923 - 2000)
Established in 1982, the Buffers is a group of  transport enthusiasts living in Southern Ontario, which meets for their enjoyment of British railway and other transport modelling.

The Devon Belle and its (Tenuous) Connection with Strathroy Ontario.

The first three pictures are of of LNER Pacific "Flying Scotsman" at Strathroy Ontario. The locomotive was on its way to the CNE in Toronto, in August 1970.The next two pictures below that are  from the  train that accompanied Flying Scotsman. The top picture shows two Gresley luggage vans. Infront of the luggage vans, the end of a BR Mk 1 coach is visible and at the rear is a Pullman coach. Two pullman coaches, "Lydia" and "Isle Of Thanet" are currently enroute back to their home in the UK. See accompanying

The bottom picture shows most of the second Pullman car and the observation car that was built for the Devon Belle Pullman service between Waterloo and the Southwest of England via the Southern Railway route.
One of the observation cars  remains in preservation today.
