Models By Andrew |
Below are a few pictures of my first major attempt at scratch building. Shown are two blocks of "typical" row housing. I based the model on the popular TV show Coronation Street. Of note is that when I looked closely at the buildings used in the show, there are not enough chimneys for the number of houses! (I remedied that point) I made two blocks mainly because I made the first one too small to have room for the Rover's Return, so I made another one a few mm longer ! |
The Rovers Return, corner shop and everything in between. Well not actually, but pretty close ! The paving has since been redone. It warped due to two differing types of plastic laminated together, not getting along ! |
This is the other block. This one features square bay windows for variety. Note the 1970's choice of door colours ! The right end unit is a small cafe. |
The end of the unit showing the Rover's. |
This is a Midland Signal box that I modified from the Dapol kit. It was made shorter and the roof was modified. I improved the stairway and also added a Ratio Midland Rwy window set. This was inspired by an article in Ralway Modeller magazine. |
