During the February meeting we welcomed Lorne Elliott of St George, Ontario who was introduced by member, David Thoms. Lorne's interest is in the contemporary scene in 00. Lorne has actually purchased some of the stock of our late founder and now proudly runs it on his own layout.

We also welcomed back
Jack Breddy after an absence of one year.

Membership dues for the 2002 year are now past due in the amount of $20.00.  An updated membership list has been produced and is comlete with emai, and telephone information. Please contac thte secretary with any errors and omissions.

David Thoms was in Britain in January on a business trip. David reported on suburban services he experienced in the Guildford area and also a visit to the Mid-Hants Railway (the Watercress Line)

Jack Breddy reported that a local restaurant is to be established in the ex-CPR station on Richmond Street with facilties above the restaurant for possible meetings. Liability insurance was discussed among members, the amount being beyond the resources of the club. Jack will investigate further and report back at the next meeting.

Geoff Chandler is on the process of updating the promotional material for the Buffers Display. The new version will include a reference to the twentieth anniversary.

Lazlo Molnar brought along a diorama that he shas constructed reflecting a rurual scene of a 17th century rural scene.

William Bickley had two interesting items on display. The first was a brick built warehouse building that may be included in the Buffers layout. The second item was a fascination series of photographs taken "from the air" of his 00-scale layout. These photographs seem to be very helpful in his expansion proposal for the railway, although the royal ascent was turned down. We are sure a second, revised petition will be presented to the authorities. ! ! !

Geoff Chandler presented the video  "Living with Lizzie" . The subject of the film describing the development of the Princess Royal Class and specifically 6201 Princess Elizabeth, built in 1933. The video, although  approaching twenty years old, has aged well. A proposal for 6201 to haul the Royal Train as part of the Queen's Golden Jubiee tour has apparently met with an encouraging response according to an article published in the Railway Magazine. Hornby plans to release a special edition of 6201 to co-incide with the Golden Jubilee.

Our March  meeting will be held at the usual 83 Elliot Street location on the 16th of the month.   Starting at 13:00 and running to around 16:30. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served as usual.
