Information about the SE,s

Please note I have gathered this information from various sources I cannot verify the accuracy of this data. Some of the data was supplied by Vauxhall themselves, and they have got things wrong!!

A question often asked is what is an SE  well there is not much that separates them from the standard model. The biggest difference was the colours of the cars. In addition, most had a few interior enhancements; leather being the main one (apart from the SE8 and SE3). Alloy wheels where not standard on the very early calibra models and an early SE would have these as well (alloys soon became standard). The SE has a Duel Information display (D.I.D) instead of an analogue Clock. This had a digital clock and an outside temperature display also; around the SE4, they got cream leather and white dials and centre oil and battery gauges. Foglights where on the 16v models as standard, but the 8v models did not get these. Air conditioning was fitted to some of the SE's but was for the most part an optional extra They also added the V Grill after the SE3 (1995) and the ECOTEC 16 valve engine was now used, Though most SE's after this where the 8v Model apart from the SE7 SE8 (both 16v ECOTEC) And the very last one the produced the SE9 which was a 2.5 V6 24 valve

Vauxhall customer assistance department sent the following information on the 27th May 2002 regarding the amount of special edition calibras produced. Unfortunately the information is somewhat dubious in its accuracy. According to Vauxhall, NO Calibras where produced prior to 1993, this is wrong as I have seen Calibras with a G year registration prefix ( Aug 1989 >  Aug 1990). They did specify that this information be for vehicles produced in the United Kingdom Only (Vauxhall) and NOT for any of the Opel vehicles or from any other Country. I have no idea why they have listed the V6 and the V6 24 Valve separately, as far as I am aware all Calibra V6,s are 24 valve models. I have asked for an explanation regarding these anomalies, and this is their reply "I have exhausted the information that we hold through our Statistics Department upon the Vauxhall Calibra range of vehicles. They advise that the information is accurate to their knowledge"
