She approached Parth Galen and found Frodo standing on the shore looking across the Anduin. She climbed the tree that was to the left of her and stood there watching him. She knew that he was afraid to leave; something was holding him back. Suddenly she could hear his thoughts, and remembered what he had said in the mines.
"I wish the Ring had never come to me, I wish none of this had happened." She could see the tears streaming down Frodo's face and she felt her own eyes stinging, she was able to blink them back but only for a short while.
"So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide, all we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you." Frodo found his courage and he closed his hand and shoved the Ring in his pocket. He ran towards the boat and pushed it into the Anduin and jumped in.
Sam yelled after Frodo and stood by the water as Frodo paddled away from it. When Frodo did not look back Sam started to walk further into the water. She watched Sam and knew that he would not let Frodo go alone, Sam tried to swim but he could not!
Frodo watched as Sam disappeared under the water, he quickly paddled back and plunged his hand into the water. He pulled Sam up into the boat and Frodo looked at Sam.
"I made a promise, Mr. Frodo, a promise. Don't you lose him Samwise Gamgee, and I don't mean to, I don't mean to."
"Oh Sam." Frodo threw himself at Sam and they embraced in a hug. Lothaelin smiled to herself as the two of them paddled across the river. She jumped out of the tree and ran into the river, she dived in and swam across until she finally reached the other side.
She walked up the shore and continued to walk until she found Argo hiding in the trees waiting for her. She mounted Argo and they slowly walked behind them until they reached the eastern Emyn Muil.
The sun had started to set and the sky was a brilliant pink and orange color. She watched and listened to Sam and Frodo speaking to one another before the descended down the Emyn Muil. She walked up to where they had been standing and looked down at them as they continued walking down.
"Namarië Frodo and Sam. Until we meet again, may it be an evening star shines down upon you; when darkness falls your heart will be true." She closed her eyes and could see Frodo's face, his bright blue eyes glittering happily when he saw Bilbo in Rivendell, and his lips curved into a smile. She opened her eyes and looked down at the two small figures and started to smile.
"I love you, Frodo Baggins." She watched them until they were completely out of her keen Elvish sight. She looked over at her tall white horse standing next to her. She mounted Argo and glanced back once again before she clicked her tongue and Argo galloped off towards Rohan.
"I'm coming Merry and Pippin, I'm coming."
