So don't bitch at me if my site has the same information as yours because A LOT of DBZ sites have the same information posted on them.  Thank-you.
Goku - Referred to as one of the strongest fighters in the universe, Goku has an incredible strength to match his strong will and determination.  Through his confidence, Goku was able to become the first in 3000 years to transform to the "Super Saiyan" stage.  He has a big heart, which gets him into trouble in various times, because he refuses to allow anyone to harm his loved ones.  Goku never resists the opportunity to take a new challenge and test his personal strength.  He inspires the people who surround him to become better people.  He brings out Vegeta's kind heart as the saga progress.  He puts all his faith into his sons.  After he forfeited the battle against Cell, he was the only one who believed in Gohan.  He was the only one who didn't give up.  His body had given up, but he was still looking for a solution to the problem.  His perseverance is remarkable.  He has leadership skills others only dream of.
Gohan - One of two of Goku's sons, Gohan becomes powerful at an incredible rate. Originally trained by Piccolo, his strength grew to phenomenal numbers at a very early age. His mother Chi-Chi would prefer to have him be studious, but there was always some battle he had to fight or prepare for since he was 3 years old. Later in the series, he became the universe's strongest fighter, beating Cell at the S uper Saiyan form 2 stage. This is due to him being a half-breed, a mix between human and Saiyan. Gohan only fights when he deems necessary, and thus why e never became as strong as his father until the end, because he lacks confidence. He never really realized his own strength until he defeated Cell with a single punch. His best friend would have to be Piccolo. Although Piccolo hid his emotions, he liked the Saiyan. Gohan even sang a song for him confessing his admiration, only to be responded with an insult.
Vegeta - When he entered the series, he had a purely evil heart.  He fought mainly to satiate his hunger for power, willing to kill anyone or anything in his path of destruction.  He is without the doubt the only character with an immense will.  He constantly strives to become a better warrior.  He had a pride that refused to allow him to accept defeat.  He would not accept the fact that he was not the stron gest fighter, which drove his will and fury.  His constant jealously for Goku was the main drive for his embodiment.  When he saw Goku turn Super Saiyan, he became enraged and infuriated.  He immersed himself in intense training to become stronger than Goku, but he hadn't realized until later that it was Goku's heart, which made him stronger.  After the Frieza saga he began an intense training session under 400X gravity. Afterwards, he found out that Goku was still the stronger warrior.  His frustration and an ger pushed him over the edge.  He then transformed into a Super Saiyan.  He then became so overwhelmed with his strength that he forced himself to fight the androids to test his newfound strength.  His pride only had a few moments of glory in which to dwell upon after defeating #20, only to be put to an immediate halt by #18 who in turn destroyed Vegeta.  Vegetas first catharsis occurred during Gohans battle with Cell.  Because of his rash decision to attack Cell when he did not have the power to, had caus ed Gohan's arm to be seriously injured when Gohan saved his life.  Not only was he not even close to Cells ability, but also served as a hindrance to Gohan.  That was the first time Vegeta accepted his in capabilities by making an apology to Gohan.  When the Majin Buu saga rolled around, his cold darkened heart had changed.  He was no longer the evil hearted man he once was.  Right before he was going to sacrifice his life in an attempt to destroy Buu, he told his son Trunks, how much he loved him and how he felt bad for giving him the attention he deserved.  During the final battle between Goku and Buu, he finally realized that it was Goku's good and kind heart which gave him the power which he had worked so hard before to surpass.
Piccolo - The Namekian, is very powerful and unique.  Piccolo comes from the planet Namek, and is Namekian.  Piccolo's abilities are very unique and his power level compares to a powerful Saiyans.  Piccolo has the ability to stretch and even re-grow limbs.  He does not eat, but all Nameks drink water.  He is in constant training, trying to grow stronger to beat Goku in revenge of his father's death.  Piccolo and Vegeta act alike in many ways.  For one, both don 't know when to give up, and both always go back for more.  Both constantly train to become stronger and both train for one reason, to beat Goku.  Kind of funny huh?  Piccolo is a not friend with anyone, but all of the Z Warriors respect him.  His only true friend is Gohan, Goku's son. Gohan was trained by Piccolo at the age of 4, which made the two very close.  Piccolo thinks and protects Gohan as though he were a younger brother.  Piccolo has died, I believe 4 times through original Dragonball and Dragonball-Z.  This includes his father Daimao.
Trunks - Born of Bulma and Vegeta, he is yet another Saiyan to reach the Super Saiyan form.  He is also a half-breed, mix of human and Saiyan.  In the future, which is where he is from, he and Goten battle the Androids.  They fight through the Brolly story and in the Fusion Form movie.  Being born of scientifically background, Trucks is more intelligent than appearance would lead to.  He is most famous for killing Frieza by cutting him in half with a single blow.  Frieza's father believed he had tricked him by convincing Trunks to give him his sword, but when King Cold attempted to slice Trunks, he caught the blade between his fingers, and returned the attack.  He later became to be one of the main stars in the GT series as well.
Goten - is a mischievous boy that strongly resembles Goku.  Since his dad Goku died during the Cell Saga, he grows up without father.  Instead, he looks up to Gohan, his older brother, and thinks he is the greatest in the world.  He and his best friend Trunks (Vegeta and Bulma's son) are always getting themselves into trouble.  He and Trunks can also fuse together to become Gotenks, a strong, yet over-confident being with extremely silly attacks.  Because Goku was so strong when he and Chi-Chi had him, Goten is born extremely powerful as well.  He is able to become a Super Saiyan at the age of 7, making him the youngest Super Saiyan to date.  He could have gotten much stronger, but by the end of Dragonball-Z, he slacks off and doesn't train.
Krillin - As a young boy, Krillin studied martial arts with Goku under Master Roshi. Originally he and Goku were fierce rivals, but now they are best friends. A short, bald warrior, Krillin provides comic relief in tense situations as he tries to keep up with Goku and some of the other more powerful warriors. A good fighter on his own accord, he's always there to help Goku. He can and has saved his friend's life more than once. In fact, Krillin unleashes an incredibly powerful energy blast shaped like a flying disk that can slice through mountaintops. Goku constantly encourages Krillin to have confidence in his own abilities as Krillin learns to be a remarkable fighter--that is, for an earthling. Loyal, courageous and dedicated to his friends, Krillin is willing to fight against the Saiyans even though he doesn't want to die and knows that he can't be brought back to life again by the Dragon Balls. Krillin and Gohan become very close friends through their adventures on Earth and Namek, and Krillin would do anything for Gohan.
Yamcha - Longtime friend and ally of Goku's, though he was once a notorious bandit. He is sometimes accompanied by Paur, his devoted cat companion. He is anxious and willing to be trained by Kami and to join the upcoming battle against the Saiyans even though he understands that the odds will be against them. In the heat of battle Yamcha volunteers to fight the Saibamen instead of Krillin because Krillin has already been brought back to life by the Dragon Balls. He and Bulma were formerly an item, and often illicit sparks fly for each other. Eventually Bulma moves on to Vegeta. Yamcha is defeated during battle with the Saibamen, and trains in the 'Next Dimension' under King Kai.
Tien - A three-eyed man intent on training to be strong. Originally trained by one of Master Roshi's rivals, Tien switched sides and became a Z fighter. He beat Goku at a worldwide martial arts tournament, is able to stop a waterfall with a blast and can crush rocks on his head. His fighting techniques include the ability to hover in the air, throw concentration bombs, blind with flashes of light, and split into two or four separate entities. Tien is excited about being trained by Kami and willing to fight against the Saiyans despite the odds. He volunteers to be the first to fight against the Saibamen, wins the battle and goes on to fight against the Saiyans. Tien can communicate telepathically with Chiaotzu, his best friend.
Chiaotzu - A master of telepathy, Chiaotzu has the power to stop people in their tracks and to communicate telepathically. This white-skinned, red-checked little being is the devoted companion of Tien.
A strong fighter in the early days, Chiaotzu does not hesitate to throw himself onto Nappa's back and self-destruct in an attempt to save his friends. However, his power level does not increase as dramatically as the other Z fighters. Thus, Chiaotzu is not a major warrior in the later episodes of Dragonball-Z.
Yajirobe - One good guy not interested in fighting.  Usually on the sidelines, with food in his mouth, he doesn't willingly go near danger and isn't willing to go in the Pendulum Room to train to fight the Saiyans.  Yajirobe does come through in the end when he sneaks up behind the Oozaru Vegeta and cuts off his tail.  He works for Kami and Korin.
