There is no activity or movement on the field at this hour, making one feel that there is something significant missing.  In the silence, you can almost hear the shouts of the quarterback  calling out the plays, the coach blowing his whistle.  The darkness conceals objects on the field and the bleachers in shadows and, for a moment, the tackle dummies look almost human.  You also see an open gate, a pile of helmets, the coach's cart at the side of the field and a tackle dummy.
Obvious paths: none.

Savannah Reynolds says, "OK, now that daylight is breaking, we'll be getting started.  Entries will be judged on applause by the crowd."
Savannah Reynolds smiles.
Savannah Reynolds says, "So let yourselves go."

Savannah Reynolds exclaims, "And as the parade begins, we see Leanne and her float!"
Savannah Reynolds nods to Leanne Qiao.
Leanne Qiao is on top of her float, being pulled out by a classic automobile - an old newspaper delivery truck. p; The entire float is made out of newspaper, molded into paper maiche, and painted into a miriad of beautiful blending colors.  The float is made up entirely of individuals enjoying reading their favorite newspaper.
You chuckle.
Leanne Qiao smiles as you can see the colourful characters of her float. One woman is sitting on a monorail seat reading the editorial section. A man is standing at a corner, thumbing through the sports section; a little boy reading the funnies while lying on his stomach.  All of the characters have been crafted so carefully and meticulously; the paper maiche appears almost life like.

Leanne Qiao starts throwing out stacks of the latest edition of The Informer, tied into bundles out onto the ground; Inviting everyone to grab a paper and enjoy reading the news of the day.

Dylan Perry runs down the gangplank on the Complete Angler float, dressed to the hilt in his splendid fisherman outfit from fishing hat all the way down to a fantastic pair of neon yellow hipwaders.

Dylan Perry settles down in a lawn chair and casts out his line into a small wading pool at the front of the float, which incidentally has several floating rubber fish and ducks.

Dylan Perry waves his pole back and forth and off to the side a shout bellows out "Tidal Wave!" and you watch as Joe throws a bucket of water on Dylan soaking him to the bone.

Dylan Perry feels his line tighten, he begins reeling it in quickly. The hook catches the inside of the pool ripping it open and as air escapes Dylan finally reels it in with a "Hey Jesus, what's the restrictions on wading pools?"

Savannah Reynolds enters on a float shaped like an artist's palette.  On the sides of the float you see giant paintbrushes and works of art that appear to be stuck on with refrigerator magnets.  In the middle of the float you see a replica of a giant vase, inside a locked cage with chains around it.
Wegarius Hodge gets a distant look on his face as he ponders.
You ponder for a moment and reflect.
Savannah Reynolds points to the huge pile of clay at the front of the float.  It looks as though someone was trying to make a simple sculpture, or maybe it's just a bunch of clay that got run over by a truck.  There is a large sign on the front of the float that reads, "Happy Moradian Independence Day from The Glorious Image Art Gallery, Gigi StMichael Proprietor."

Savannah Reynolds waves a package of colored pencils as she rides by sitting on a huge pad of drawing paper.  The float is adorned with several replicas of famous statues.  There are huge wads of crumpled paper and some large jars with colorful paintbrushes stuck in them.

Savannah Reynolds turns for one last wave as the float rolls out of the stadium.  On the back of the float is a small sign that says, "Support your local artists!"  The back of the float also features various watercolors and sketches that appear to be very well executed.  These works appear to be signed, but they are too far away to read the signatures.

Auguste Delatour carefully climbs aboard her "History of Morada" float and signals to the driver. Islanders wearing costumes from different periods in Moradian History smile and wave as the float moves onto the field. Behind them, a huge painted backdrop with scenes from various eras in Morada's past slowly scrolls from left to right in a continuous loop, much like a giant conveyor belt.

Auguste Delatour smiles as a group dressed as late 15th Century Spanish explorers and Carib natives pose in front of a picture of the first settlement on Morada and scenes of the island's Spanish colonial days. You squint at the crowd, trying to make out all the faces. One of those natives looks suspiciously like Jaku!

Auguste Delatour waves as the scene changes to that of a plantation during the days of French rule. Dressed in an 18th century gown trimmed with lace and roses, she stands in the middle of a group of characters from that period: a mix of plantation owners, sugarcane field workers, merchants, artisans, and even a couple of pirates. Is it just your imagination or does that very non-menacing pirate hiding behind the rest of the group look a lot like Arnie Swenson?

Auguste Delatour twirls her parasol and strolls off to the side with the others as the backdrop changes to late 18th and 19th Century scenes, including the transfer to British rule and the abolition of slavery. Jude Gibson and other officers appear in the guises of Lord Edwin Lamprey, Morada's first Governor, and colonial assembly members. It seems that they're trying to reenact an assembly meeting. However, it looks more like a giant argument!

Auguste Delatour watches as the backdrop changes once again to reflect the German occupation of Morada during World War II and the subsequent struggle for independence. Prominent are images of Matthew Alvarez leading the rebellion against the Germans. Members of the Moradian Army march in front of the backdrop, dressed as Alvarez's followers, the Matthew Men.

Kri Caselli appears riding inside a hand made canoe at the front of a lavishly decorated float. The canoe is resting in a stream fashioned from blue and white flower petals runs from the pool of a spilling waterfall pouring from large, artfully replicated stones.  With Kri appears a group of local native men clad in full tribal dress grinning proudly at the crowd.
Kri Caselli stands and flashes a dazzling smile at the natives then the crowd. Gesturing to a floral script running down the side of her float, Kri shows you the theme of her float:  "Moradian Wild Life," outlined with draping seaweed and softly glowing seashell lights.
Savannah Reynolds lets out a hearty cheer for Kri Caselli.
Kri Caselli gives a subtle cue and the natives sitting in the canoe break grab their tribal drums and break into an infectious rhythmic groove. When the music begins, tiki torches burst aflame from around a pathway that splits the jungle created top of the float .

Kri Caselli steps out of the float and onto the gaping maw of an alligator so large your old wounds ache sympathetically. Suddenly an actor clad in gold races across the float chasing a woman with an afro and wearing stripes with plaids.

Kri Caselli strides gracefully up a path as an old yellow dog you think you recognize meanders from the lush foliage and flowers that cover the float.
You giggle.
Kri Caselli approaches the waterfall and a light shines onto two jail cells previously hidden from view.  Dancing crazily inside you see an assortment of poorly dressed perps ranging from the not-so-normal to the paranormal.

Kri Caselli jumps as if startled when a cricket shoots high in the sky twisting and turning as if dancing to the drumbeat.
