B-Score:
Under the current Code of Points, this score rates the gymnast's execution, form, artistry and technique. Judges take their deductions from a 10.0 base score.

B-Panel:
The panel of six  judges assigned to tally the B-Score. These judges begin with the base score of 10.0 and deduct for errors of form, falls, etc. Each judge independently determines his or her score. The highest and lowest scores are dropped, and the remaining four are then averaged.


Back-in, Full-out:
A double somersault (salto) with a twist in the second somersault.

Back support:
Body resting on the upper thighs in from of the bar

Back-to-Back Tumbling:
A series of skills in which the gymnast executes a tumbling run from one end of the mat to the other, rebounds, then performs another tumbling run in the opposite direction without stopping.

Balance beam:
Women's event; a 4-inch-wide platform on which the gymnast performs tumbling and dance skills.

Base Start:
Valued at a 10.0, the base start is the starting value for the B-Score of a routine.

Beat:
A move on the uneven bars in which a gymnast hits her stomach on the low bar while holding onto the high bar.

Beat board:
The springboard gymnasts use to begin their vault or uneven bars routines.

Bib:
The number worn on a gymnast's back, and used on scoring and roster sheets to identify them to the judges.
Example: Natasha Kelly wearing a bib (number) on her back.

Blind Change:
A high bar or uneven bars skill done from a back giant swing with a 1/2 turn over the top of the bar to end in a front giant.

Block:
Usually used to describe a rapid bounce, repulsion, or rebounding off the floor or vault with the arms. The block comes from the shoulders exploding towards full extrension.

Bridge:
Backward arch of the gymnast's body achieved by letting the feet fall from a handstand.
