Deduction:
Points taken off a gymnast's score for errors. Most are predetermined, such as a 0.8 deduction for a fall off the apparatus.

Difficulty Score:
Also known as the A-Score. The score which is determained by the A-panel of judges. The score is determined by totaling values for the 10 most difficult elements in a routine, including the dismount.

Difficulty Value:
How much an element is worth.

Dislocation:
A move in which the gymnast's body hangs from the bar or rings with his or her arms behind the back.
Example: Chellsie Memmel on the uneven bars performing a dislocate.

Dismount:
The final movement of the routine in which the gymnast leaves the apparatus.

Double-Double:
A term refering to a double-twisting, double-salto.
