| Layout position: A stretched body position, straight or slightly arched Leg circle: Move on the pommel horse where the gymnast keeps the legs together and swings them in a full circle around the horse, with each hand lifted in turn from the pommel to let the legs pass Legmount: A balance on one leg, with the other leg fully extended in a front, side or rear split position Leotard: The uniform in which a gymnast wears during workout or competition. Example: Shawn Johnson in the USA leotard during the 2008 Olympic Games. Lever: The body is perfectly horizontal, supported by straight arms Line: A white line drawn around the floor space to mark the edges. If a gymnast steps on the line, there is no deduction; stepping or landing outside of it results in a deduction. Low Bar: The smaller of the two bars used during the uneven bars. Lunge: A position often used to prepare for a pivot, with one foot well in front of the other and taking most of the weight with the knee bent |
