| Olympic order: The international competition order that is decided by the FIG. For women: vault, uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise For men: floor exercise, pommel horse, still rings, vault, parallel bars, horizontal bar Open scoring: System of scoring in which marks given by each individual judge are made visible to the audience. Optionals: Personally designed routines. Until 1997, these routines made up the second day of compeititon, the first day being Compulsories. Today gymnasts only perform optional-type routines. Overgrasp: Hands grasping the bar or bars, palms down Out-Of-Bounds: Situation during the floor exercise event when a gymnast crosses the border line marked around the floor mat, resulting in a deduction |
