Radochla:
A somersault performed between the uneven bars

Rear lying hang:
Skill on the uneven bars where the gymnast hangs with her arms grasping the high bar and her buttocks on the low bar

Rear stand:
Stand with the back to the apparatus

Rear vault:
Vault with the rear of the body facing the bar

Rebound (or rebounding elements):
Bouncing out of one element immediately to another while on floor.

Referee:
A neutral judge in overall charge of the judging of a competition who arbitrates if arguements occur

Re-grasp:
On uneven bars or high bar, the act of grabbing the bar again after releasing from it.

Releve:
A swift rise or lift onto the ball of the foot

Release:
Letting go of a bar and then grasping it again. Also called a "Release Move" or a "Release Element".

Reuther board:
Most common type of springboard, used in vaulting

Reverse turn:
A turn in the direction of the supporting leg; also called a 'inward turn'


Rings:

Rip:
Term used to either describe a gymnast slipping off the bar or a painful tear in the skin, usually on the hands, like a blister which has opened.

Rotation:
A term used to describe either a full turn or the time it takes for one group of gymnasts to all complete their routines within a meet. Typically there are six rotations for men and four for women's meets.

R.O.V.
Risk, Originality, and Virtuosity.

Roundoff (Round-off):
A skill in which the gymnast's body turns at the height of a cartwheel yet lands with his or her body facing in the opposite direction

Routine:
A sequence of skills put together to form an exercise.
