Caesar Cicero
First appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #73

A lawyer for the Maggia, turned Would-be mobster, Caesar Cicero tried to follow in the foot-steps of crimebosses like the Kingpin and Silvermane, and carve a niche for himself in the world of organizaed crime. Going by the alias "Big C", Cicero's plots for power first came to pass when he contacted Louis Wilson, an associate of the Kingpins, who had been caught by Spider-Man and sent to prison. Wilson had been aiding the Kingpin in his appropriation of the legendary time tablet, for which the Kingpin had been trying to track down. A rival crimeboss to the Kingpin, the aging Silvermane wanted the Tablet to restore his youth, while Cicero merely wanted power and to have a name for himself. Silvermane eventually got the Tablet, but it's powers worked against him, turning him to dust. This created a space in the Maggia crime group, one that Cicero and his trusty enforcer Man Mountain Marko quickly filled.

Now in a positon of power, Cicero exercised his sway from behind the scenes for a time, before encountering the Power Man and Iron Fist, aka, the Heroes for Hire. Cicero would again encounter this dynamic duo, both times with Marko by his side. Cicero had reached a confortable point in his life, and spent a great deal of time behind the scenes now, however when a Gang War began to eurpt years later Man Mountain Marko was called into action and his steroid use became publically known. Despite a defeat by Spider-Man, Cicero kept Marko on his payroll. Cicero himself, who had gone unseen for years now, remerged when news broke that Fortunato, an aging crimeboss, had ambitions of taking over the vacated position of Kingpin of Crime, since the Kingpin had been de-throned earlier by the masked hero Daredevil. In the company of other crime bosses, Cicero plotted against Fortunato, until the aging crimebosses' plans were set back by Spider-Man, Deredevil and Fortunato's own son Jimmy.

Cicero's renewed interest in taking matters into his own hands, led to his undertaking of more Maggia business personally, including the further dealing of Fortunato and meeting with other Maggia heads in Chicago. It was during the latter outing, that the Avengers intervened and Cicero was escorted to prison, but he was soon out and back to familiar territory. When pieces of the original Time Tablet reappeared, Cicero sent Marko once again to procure them, though his plans were futile in the long run, since rival crimeboss got the pieces, until they were taken into an alternate world by the mystical Dr. Strange.

When last seen, Caesar Cicero's rise in power continued, and though his flunky Man Mountain Marko had again failed him, it appears that Cicero will be keeping his longtime Enforcer around.

Powers and Abilities: Caesar Cicero has the strength and abilities of a middle aged man who seldom engages in exercise, but has a very sharp mind, and is considered to be a top figure in the Maggia crime circles.
