Venom: The Hunger #3 (August 1996) Kaminski Halsted Koblish
review by justin anderson
the plot:
Above, Eddie's being tracked. Someone wants the symbiote for themself. Below,
Eddie finds the creature. A short fight,
lots of fire and sonics, until the creature stops fighting. Eddie feeds it a
conainer full of a rare brain
chemical, one of the elements a symbiote needs to survive(this element occurs in
their natural environment, but on
Earth, is only found in human brain tissue).
Finally calm, both Eddie and the symbiote are stunned by gas, as soldiers
collect the symbiote.
the review: This is a weird little tale, bordering on Vertigo or Acclaim style material.
Eddie Brock dressed to take out
an army, the symbiote as a large worm creature, and a strange man with
mechanical claws for hands. Which borders on
sick as we see this man eating a human brain, with him saying, "I must remember
to thank Dr. Lechter for this recipe..."
(yeah, they intentionally misspelled "Lecter"). A scene I'm surprised the CCA
approved of (yet they find Storm wearing
a thong inappropriate?).
**** of *****. It probably borders on excessive for me to suggest it to everyone
though.
