the plot: When an investigative report into the shady underbelly of the Hellfire Club is in the Daily Bugle, dueling rivals Benedict Kine and Shinobi Shaw send emmisaries to deal with J. Jonah Jameson, for the leadership of the Inner Circle. It's up to Spider-Man, who's still reeling from the revelation that Ben Reilly is the true Spider-Man and he's a clone, to rescue Jameson, with a timely assist from the X-Men, who're visiting New York. After Spidey takes down Kine, Shaw offers a hand in defeating his knights, and Jameson is rescued. The X-Men tell Spidey not to worry about the Hellfire Club since they'll deal with it, and Spidey drops Jameson off at the Bugle. Jameson however is furious at the Scarlet Spider, who he thinks is responsible for this ordeal though.
