Spider-Man: The Animated Series Carnage Unleashed (1995)
review by justin anderson
the desription:
the design:
As with Venom 2, Carnage Unleashed has the human head exposed. Cletus has black
markings under his eyes and a very
evil grin on his face. Unlike Venom 2, bits of the suit extend slightly up the
neck. None of the pieces were recycled
from the first Carnage figure, evident by the different swirl patterns and the
length of certain pieces. The right fist
extends into 2 long spikes coming from the knuckles, and the left hand has the
longer fingers associated with
Carnage.
the articulation: Standing 5" tall, the toy has 10 joints. 2 weapon accessories are included. A
giant hand which clips the right arm, and
a large axe which clips to the left. A ruibber Carnage mask can fit over the
head, and a long symbiotic wrap tendril is
included.
The rubber head has the problem of simply being too big. Even when removed,
it's too large. An interchangeable head
would have worked better here, I think. Being rubber, the paint may also crack
over time.
A small plastic "pin" was included, a black piece of plastic with the upper
half of the character painted on and his
name in silver chrome. It simply clips on by a small plastic latch on the back.
Nothing too impressive.
the review: Probably the best Carnage figure made, with a little more attention paid to
details. Though the symbiotic head could
have used work. ***** of *****.
(This figure was also available in a
silverish-red variant through a store-exclusive
Marvel figure line.)
