Ultimate Spider-Man #7 (March 2001)
Bendis Jemas Bagley Thibert

Ultimate Spider-Man #7 review by rick menten

the plot: Spider-Man and the Goblin creature are still flying in the sky, and the Goblin keeps on saying "Parker". Spidey tries to figure out who the Goblin is, but then the Goblin throws Spidey down. While the other ids watch, Spidey decides to improvise and makes a safetynet with his webs, allowing him to bump away.

The Goblin has seen it all and heads back to the school. Harry claims that it is coming for him. Spidey further improvises with his webs and makes a sling, sliding him to the Goblin and then he kicks into the Goblins back, giving the people below something to watch.

Spidey punches the Goblin a few times, but then the creature smashes Spidey down the ground. Also, some NYPD copters arrive at the scene. Spidey gets up and shoots some webs at the Goblin, but it goes away from them, so the webs hit the copters. The Goblin decides to point his attention to the copters now, but Spidey goes right after him. One of the cops wants to shoot at the Goblin, but then Spidey shows up and fights the Goblin again.

The Goblin tries to fire off a ball again, but then the cop shoots and the Goblin goes back, bleeding. But, it is strong enough and jumps back to Spidey, but he slips away and the Goblin falls into the water, and it looks like he is dead now.

Spidey tells the cops he'll go after him, but the cops now start shooting at him! Spidey escapes back to the school and goes to his friends. Mary Jane hugs him and is glad that Peter is all right. While the group wounders who the creature was, Harry explains that it was his father.

Nobody actually believes Harry, and tell him that it was the Hulk or so. Harry explains that his father didn't died in the fire as claimed, and is now transformed into the creature that attacked them. The cops take Harry away, and then Aunt May and Miss Watson arrive, hughing their children. Peter takes a last look at Harry and wonders if it is possible that Harry might be right.

Meanwhile at the Brooklyn Bridge, the helicopters are still flying around in search of the Goblin. On the other side of the Bridge, bubbles rise from the water...

The End?

the review: Review: The first story-arc ends, the only thing we have to do now is wait for the movie! The issue is great, but the art's a bit slidey. But for the rest, it's OK.

Ultimate Spider-Man #7 gets ***1/2 out of *****.
