The Scorpion
First Appearance: (As Mac Gargan) Amazing Spider-Man #19; (As The Scorpion) Amazing Spider-Man #20; (In New Suit) Amazing Spider-Man V2 #1

Macdonald "Mac" Gargan was a private eye who was hired by J. Jonah Jameson to track Peter Parker, in order to discover his affiliation with Spider-Man. After Jameson realized that the way to defeat Spider-Man was with someone stronger, Gargan received an offer to become that secret weapon. Gargan accepted the offer, and received doses of radiation. The creator of the process Dr. Farley Stillwell, then gave Gargan a robotic tale, and dubbed him the Scorpion. The Scorpion went after Spider-Man, but a little while into their fight, Gargan's mind began to change, resorting to it's primal urges. The Scorpion killed Stillwell, and went on a rampage. As the Scorpion went after Jameson, Spider-Man stopped the Scorpion and he was sent to prison. The Scorpion continued to exact revenge on Spider-Man for humiliating him and Jameson for mutating him. After many battles between the Scorpion and Spider-Man over the years, the Scorpion reformed, to live a normal life. However in time the Scorpion went back to his old ways and kidnapped Jameson. The Ben Reilly Spider-Man managed to save Jameson in time, though.

Recently the Scorpion recieved a new mechanical suit from a mysterious group, and sparred against the imitation Spider-Man, only to be defeated once again.

Powers and Abilities: The Scorpion has super human strength and stamina, and has a removable robotic tale that exerts acid.
