Styx and Stone
First appearance: Amazing Spider-Man #309

A lethal duo, Styx and Stone make their livings as high paid assassins through the use of their unique and strange powers and abilities. Whil little is known about Styx and Stone, it has been revealed that Styx, whose real name is Jacob Eichorn, was once a homeless man, who offered himself for experimental drug treatments for cash. However one of the scientists testing on Eichorn decided to preform his own experiments into cancer research, trying to see if a mutated form of cancer that is injected into the human body can lead to the human body rejecting the actual disease. The experiment went wrong, and though Eichorn was immune to cancer now, his touch now had a deadly effect, causing organic matter to die when in contact with him.

It is not known how Eichorn, who became known as Styx, first encountered the technological mercenary Gerald Stone, but some how Styx saved Stone's life, and the latter, indebted to the former, became his partner. They soon found work, however, as assassins hired by the twisted Jonathon Caesar to eleminate Spider-Man. Caesar, who was obcessed with Mary Jane, wanted Spider-Man out of the way, but failed and was incarcerated. In time though, Caesar was released and he again hired Styx and Stone to deal with Spider-Man. They unfortunatly failed once more, but another enemy of Spider-Man's, Venom, got involved in the fight and was affected by Styx's powers. Venom, who uses a symbiote as an organic costume, had his suit "killed" by Styx, and this eventually led to the creation of the deadly mass-murderer Carnage.

Currently Styx and Stone remain free agents for hire, having evaded Spider-Man on a more recent occasion as well. They remain deadly, and extremely dangerous.

Powers and Abilities: Once human, Styx can now kill organic matter with a single touch. This extends to human flesh, plant life and even cloth. Stone has no super-human powers, but relies of a variety of hi-tech weaponery in battle, including his Turbo-Hopper, which allows Styx and himself flight, and his projectile Shoulder Cannons.
