Disclaimer: Digimon is not mine, neither is the song "That Girl on my Mind".  Kristen is my character, though, and I won't let you use her without permission!

                                                            That Girl on my Mind

Matt sat on a tree branch along side Gabumon.  Kristen sat in a tree across from them, and Matt and Kristen hadn't talked in hours.  Every time Kristen looked to Matt, he glared at her.  Kristen's eyes scanned her surroundings as she remembered why they weren't talking.
~Flashback~
"Kristen, I told you, I just want to be left alone!" Matt yelled at the younger girl.  Kristen put her hands on her hips.
"Like that's gonna happen!  In case you haven't noticed, we're stranded in the middle of no where!" Kristen shot back.  Matt glared.
"The least you could do is stop crowding me!" he yelled.  Matt grabbed Kristen's arm and pushed her away.  She landed on the ground.  Tears began to form in Kristen's eyes and she quickly ran away.
"Matt Ishida!" Gryphonmon scolded.  "Now look what you've done!"
"It's her own fault!" Matt answered.  At this, Kristen could be heard screaming in the distance.  Matt rolled his eyes.
~End of flash back~
It had been Piedmon and what was left of the Dark Masters.  If Matt hadn't gotten there in time, Kristen probably wouldn't be alive.  Regardless of this fact, Matt was still mad at Kristen for running off, even if he was the one that had said he wanted to be alone.  He sighed and noticed Kristen's eyes were on him.  He quickly put on his mean face and glared at her.

Looking up at that blue sky
                                                           That goes on forever
                                                        Breathing in the blowing wind
                                                              Sitting on this hill

An even more serious facial expression than usual
As I glare at her from far away
                                                            Why?  No reason
                                                          Just being stubborn

Kristen sighed heavily and put her glance somewhere else.  She jumped down from the tree and Gryphonmon landed on her shoulder as they walked off.  Matt would have stopped her, but she was more than likely to get what she deserved, he thought.

That girl on my mind
                                                        That mysterious girl
I won't just stay in one place
On the street corner, yes, I ran off feeling something would happen

Kristen walked along until she came to a clearing in the forest.  Several children were fighting Puppetmon, though she didn't know any of them.  They were doing a lousy job.  Kristen turned to Gryphonmon and Gryphonmon flew up into the clearing.  She grew to her battle-mode size and was about to attack when Weregarurumon's voice boomed through the clearing.
"Ice Wolf Claw!" he yelled.  Ice came flying towards Puppetmon and hit him dead-on, sending him flying off.  Just to make sure it was okay, Gryphonmon attacked.
"Legendary Blade!" she yelled.  The blue curved strip of energy his Puppetmon and he disinagrated.  The other kids looked over to Matt and Kristen but they were running off.

That premonition on my mind
                                                    That mysterious premonition
I feel like I saw her in a dream once
Looking at her everyday, unable to predict anything
                                                          I won't lose her

As they got out of the clearing, Kristen spoke up.
"Matt, why did you help me?" she asked.  "I thought you weren't talking to me."  Matt just continued running.

Chasing after the orange clouds
                                                       In such a hurry
                                            Tripping hard over something
                                                 And falling down hard

                                                 I never have anything
To do with her at all
So I hurry home on the asphalt rode

Matt ran and ran until the pain in his chest grew unbearable.  He collapsed to the ground, unconcious.
~Matt's dream~
Matt stood in the middle of a battle scene.  He could tell he was invisible to the eyes of the battlers.  A black shadow was in the sky.
"Desperado Blaster!" a voice called out.  Another voice called out the words "Legendary Blade!".  Matt looked to see a boy and a girl that looked like him and Kristen only older.  The boy had his hands on the girls shoulders.  Matt looked up to see the shadow had disappeared.  The Kristen and Matt look-a-likes were hugging with huge smiles on their faces and the rest of the kids were chearing.  Matt blushed as he realized that the two were him and Kristen.
"We're pobably just hugging because they're happy," he told himself.  He was not exactly happy, though, as he saw the two lock lips in a kiss.
~Back in reality~
"Matt, Matt, wake up!" Kristen commanded, worry in her voice.  Matt slowly opened his eyes and saw Kristen leaning over him.

That girl on my mind
                                                           That mysterious girl
I watched her carefully again today
I don't know how, yes, but somehow I'm caught up on her pace

Matt sat up and looked over to Kristen.  He winced as he tried to move his leg.
"It looks like you spraned you ankle!" Kristen told him.  Kristen reached into her backpack and brought out a long band-aid cloth and lifted up Matt's leg.  She began to wrap it around the leg.  She wiped some blood off with the bottom of her shirt and continued wrapping up Matt's hurt leg, careful not to do anything that would make Matt in any more pain than he was.

That premenition on my mind
                                                    That mysterious premention
I feel like something's going to happen
I'll never give up because I have my dream
                                                     I won't lose to anyone

Matt looked at Kristen, question in his eyes.
"Why'd you help me?" he asked.  Kristen secured the cloth and leaned back.
"You're my friend," she answered.  "and even though I don't really want to admit it, I'd probably be dead right now if it wasn't for you."  Matt smiled and Kristen smiled back at him.

That girl on my mind
                                                       That mysterious girl
I won't stay in one place
I want to know, yes, the hidden power inside her heart

That night, Matt sat by the fire, wondering about the dream he had had earlier.
"Was that, like some kind of vision?" he asked, looking over to Kristen who was sound asleep.  "Sometimes it seems the only time she doesn't get into trouble is while she's asleep."  Matt walked over to her and stared for a few minutes.  Without knowing what he was doing, he leaned down and kissed Kristen on the cheak.  He walked away from her and took his place by the fire again and soon fell asleep.

That premention on my mind
                                                   That mysterious premention
It's as though the future is a maze
Until my dreams are firmly caught in my hands
                                                      I won't lose myself
