The First Day of Camp

Virgil grinned as he watched Heather sneak away with the suitcase.

“I’m goin’ swimming!” he proclaimed as he grabbed his swim suit. He slammed close the door and headed towards the lake that was being watched over by apparently some of the water-front staff.

“What was that about?” Keiko asked. Kristen and Matt glanced towards each other, both trying not to laugh.

“You’ll get used to it,” Kristen answered, her brown eyes twinkling.

Heather pulled two extremely large suitcases into the horse stables when she heard someone behind her.

“You really think that you’re gonna be able to hide the digimon with the horses?” Joana asked. Heather turned around to see Joana and Lauren, both of whom had an ice-cream; Lauren’s chocolate and Joana’s peanut butter (hehehe, I just love peanut butter!). “They’d kinda stand out.”

“Plus, what happens when they go to take out the horses?” Lauren asked. Heather sweat dropped.

“How did you…” she started.

“Kristen told me about the sneezing suit case back at Odaiba,” Joana answered. “and I just kinda put two and two together. And now, me and Lauren are gonna go bother Mimi.” the two walked away, lapping noisily at their ice-creams and talking about how if Davis went by the lake when they were swimming, they’d throw water balloons at him. Heather let out a sigh of frustration as she picked the suitcases back up. No matter how annoying Joana was, she was right. She began pulling them along, much to the objection of the digimon that were in it.

A little while later

Kari and Yolei sat on the dock with their feet dipped into the lake, neither of them really intending on getting in, especially with Virgil in there. He was bound to get them from underwater or something.

“So let me get this straight,” Yolei began. “ever since Joe got into the cabin, he’s been hauled up in a corner, complaining about his allergies?” Kari nodded. Virgil then came from under the water.

“I know just the way to cure that!” he said. He was about to get out of the water when Yolei pushed him back in.

“Some things are better left untouched, Virgil,” she replied. Virgil spit out water from his mouth and snorted water from his nose.

“How do you know what I’m going to do?” Virgil complained.

“I just know you,” the purple-head answered. Just then, a girl with long blond hair, blue eyes, and a black two-piece bathing suit with purple butterflies tripped right over them and into the lake. Kari gasped as she saw the 14-year-old plunge right into the water. The girl surfaced and spat water out.

“I’m so sorry!” Kari exclaimed. “I guess I should watch where I’m sitting.”

“That’s okay,” the girl answered, shyly. Kari then recognized her.

“Hey, aren’t you Lyekka Mizumi, Sora’s friend?” she asked. Lyekka nodded, then dove underwater. It was obvious that she felt uncomfortable talking to them. Lyekka was soon heard screaming and she surfaced.

“THERE’S SOMETHING UNDERWATER! (okay, I know that’s out of her character but hey, she’s scared)” she screamed. Kari and Yolei looked at each other.

“Virgil,” they said in unison.

Let’s see what Tai’s doing

“This can’t be happening!” Tai complained. In case you’re wondering, he had just found out that Ayame had come to camp, too. Matt sweat dropped at his best friends sudden out burst.

“Why are you so panicked?” he asked. “You’d think that you have a crush on her or something!” Tai sunk down to the ground at this remark. Matt, getting the idea, grinned. “Oh, I see. You think you’re going to make a fool out of yourself in front of the girl of your dreams, don’t you?” Tai glared at the blond haired boy, a vein practically popping out of his head.

“Who gave you permission to speak?” Tai asked coldly.

“I’m just trying to get you to admit that you like her,” Matt answered mischievously. Tai raised his eye brows.

“Like when you did so good admitting you like Kristen?” Tai countered. Matt face-faltered.

“Well, at least I did,” he answered. “I did, and now she’s my girlfriend. But you’re different, the way you act, it seems you wouldn’t admit it for your life.” Tai narrowed his eyes at Matt.

“You’re not going to leave me alone about this, will you?” he asked. Matt raised his eye brows.

“I’m just paying you back for what you did for me,” he answered, walking off without even offering to help Tai up. Tai groaned. This summer was going to be very painful, he just knew it.

I wonder what Jun is doing?

Jun grumbled as she walked back from the counselors cabin. Oh, they had said that she could change cabins, of that you can be sure, but they had also said the only cabin that had room was the Lily cabin. Jun came here not just to try to get Matt, but to be away from Davis, and being in the same cabin wouldn’t help that cause. Just as she walked by the parking lot, a white convertible drove up with a 14 year-old girl with black hair, and well, wearing everything black with the exception of her skin and very paranoid look on her face sitting in the front passenger seat.

“But mom,” the girl said in a voice that matched her paranoid expression. “I told you, this place it evil. I don’t wanna spend another summer here or I’ll surely be killed.” the woman sitting beside her rolled her eyes.

“Now, Tina,” the woman started. “I told you, that ‘big sea monster’ was just a snapping turtle! Even Meg said so.”

“And that’s another thing,” Tina continued. “I think the counselors are out to get me! Have you seen the way they stare at me?”

“They’re probably staring at you thinking ‘how the heck can she ware that much black when it’s ninety degrees?’,” Tina’s mother answered. “Really, Tina! You look like a Goth!”

“It keeps the vampires away,” Tina answered.

“Even if vampires do exist, they only come out during the night,” her mom answered. “and that’s the only black suit that you have because I packed your clothes this time. Now you’re going to dress like a normal teenager and you’re going to make new friends and you GOING TO HAVE A GOOD TIME!” Tina was pulled out of the car and they walked past Jun.

“HELP ME SOMEONE!” Tina screamed, trying to grab onto Jun. Jun just stood and stared at the two.

“Now that’s just wrong,” was all she said.

A little while later

It was supper time, and Tina was just staring down at her food. Heather and the rest of the cabin had sweatdrops on their heads.

“Tina, I think I already told you that the spaghetti means us no harm,” Heather tried to convince her. Tina turned her head and stared at Heather.

“You haven’t been here before, have you?” she asked. Heather shook her head. “I thought not. I’ve had bad experiences with this food.” Tina was about to go into a flash back but Tai stopped her.

“Well, Little Miss Goth, you may want to starve yourself, but I sure don’t,” he said, putting some spaghetti in his mouth.

“I’m not a Goth, dark colors keep vamps away,” she answered. Heather sighed. Tina was certainly going to make her summer interesting.

That night

Everyone lay asleep in their cabin, with the exception of Tina who was nervously checking out her bed, much to the objection of her cabin mates (just in case you didn’t figure it out, Tina got put in the same cabin as Heather). A low voice came from the lake.

“Are you sure no one suspects something?” it asked. A bunch of Divermon shook their head.

“No one, with the exception of that Tina girl, but no one seems to believe her,” one answered.

“Good,” the voice answered. “I’ll soon get my hands on the digidestined.”

“Yay, go Dragomon!” the Divermon called out.

Well, that’s it for the third chapter. Sorry it took so long to get out. Hmm, it seems that Dragomon has gotten to the real world (for those of you who might not know, Dragomon is the ‘Dark Undersea Master’ from His Masters Voice). You think the digidestined will find out before it’s too late?
