Meetings

Joana walked along when she heard a voice.

"Artemis, wait!" a girl with brown eyes and brown hair and wearing a black shirt with the words 'Land Shark', blue jeans and blue sneakers and wearing two WWJD bracelets yelled as she chased after a boy with short black hair and green eyes and wearing a plain white t-shirt, baggy pants, and a talisman that looked like a snake and a sun.  Artemis turned around and waited patiently for the girl.  Joana then felt a tap on her shoulder.  She turned around to see a girl with blond hair, blue eyes.  The girl was wearing blue jeans, tan sandals, and Tweety Bird shirt.  This was Lauren Dekukeru, Joana and Heather cousin.

"Lauren!" Joana squealed as she jumped onto Lauren, giving her a big hug.  "You actually came?  I thought you were going to visit your grandma this summer!"

"Daddy said that Grandma wasn't feeling that good, so I decided to go to camp instead," Lauren answered as Joana got to her feet.  She then heard noises.  She turned around to see Virgil and Heather, each carrying a huger-than-possible suitcase.

"What are you two doing?" Lauren asked.  Heather looked over, panicked.  Then Virgil came to the rescue.

"Hada!  I gotta use the bathroom!" Virgil said all-of-a-sudden.  He and Heather ran off, dragging the suitcases behind them.  Joana watched as another bus came and the people got out.  One was very familiar.

"Ayame!" Joana called at a girl with light green eyes and brown hair.  Ayame walked up to Lauren and Joana.

"Hey you two," Ayame greeted.  "How are you?"  Joana grinned.

"Oh, I'm just fine.  Can't say the same about Tai, though," Joana answered.

"Tai's here?" Ayame asked, slightly blushing.  Joana nodded.  Just then, a voice came over the intercom.

"All campers, please report outside the cabins for your assigning," the voice over the intercom instructed.  Joana, Lauren, and Ayame headed for the place they had been instructed to go.

Little while later

"Okay, people, settle down!" a woman that looked to be in her early twenty's, maybe even still a teenager, yelled over the hub-ub of the crowd.  "My names Megumi Ishiyama, but you can call me Meg.  I'll be one of your counselors this summer.  You will meet the others as the summer progresses.  Now that everyone's here, why don't we start assigning you to your cabins shall we?  The first cabin, Chrysanthemum." Meg searched around on a clip board for something.

"I refuse to live in a cabin named after a flower in a camp that sounds like it's named after a dog!" Davis complained.  Jun shushed him as Heather, Joana, and Lauren tried to keep themselves from laughing.

"Okay, Joana Hiruru!" Meg called.  Joana picked up her bags and headed toward the cabin with a big chrysanthemum painted on the side.  Meg watched Joana entered then laid her eyes back on the clipboard.  "The next one, Lauren Dekukeru!" Lauren made a relived face as she picked up her bags and headed towards the cabin.  At least she knew one person that was in the cabin.  Meg then called out some more names.  "And the rest of the chrysanthemum group, Ayame Farinas, Jun Motimiya and Phoenix Mori!"  Ayame, Jun and a kid with bluish-green eyes and light brown hair walked into the cabin.

"Next group," Meg began.  "Red Roses.  Heather Hiruru, Koushiro Izumi, Taichi Kamiya and, John Arcom!"  Heather then let out a noise of horror.  It wasn't that bad that she was with Tai and Izzy, and that John kid didn't seem so bad, but she was the only girl!  And Izzy acted weird around her.  He slipped more into computer talk than usual.  Heather sighed and then followed the boys into the cabin with the red rose painted on the side.  The boy with light blond hair and grey eyes grinned at Heather but she ignored him.  Not out of rudeness, but she was seriously considering hiding Izzy's laptop.  Or maybe even dumping it in the lake.  "Next group!  White roses!  Hikari Kamiya, Lyekka Mizumi, Jyou Kido, and Delilah Kiroo!"  they walked into the cabin with the white rose painted on the side.  "Next cabin, Lily!  Artemis Kiroo, Takeru Takaishi, Daisuke Motimiya, and Hikali Kamiya!"  they walked into the cabin with the lily painted on the side.  Hikali grumbled about being the only girl in the cabin.  Heather stood in the doorway of her cabin and gave her a "I know how you feel" nod.  "Next cabin, Tulip!  Yamato Ishida, Virgil Christophers,  Keiko Stewart, and Kurisuteru Callten."   a record scratched as Kristen heard the names being called.  She shrugged it off and walked into the cabin with Virgil, Matt, and Keiko.  "Next cabin, Pansy.  Sora Takanouchi, Iori Hida, Mimi Tachikawa, and TJ Grey!" they walked into their cabin.  Meg  stared at Mimi's pink hair but soon went back to her clip board.  "And last, Yellow Roses!  Miyako Inoue, Ken Ichijouji, Willis (I have no idea what his last name is), and Richard and Annie Kim!"  they all went into the cabin.  Meg took a deep, long breath as she saw no one else was there.  "Well, at least THAT'S done!" Meg walked into the counselors cabin and grabbed a bottle of water.

In the Chrysanthemum cabin

Joana sighed as she unpacked her stuff onto her top bunk.  She and Lauren were sharing bunks, Joana on top, Lauren on bottom.  Jun then came storming in.

"WHY DID THAT LITTLE  ^&*0 (I think you know what she said people.  Just count the symbols) NOT PUT ME IN THE SAME CABIN AS MATT?!" Jun asked.  Lauren and Joana's eyes met and they both made the 'where did Jun learn that word' face.  Jun stomped over to an empty bunk and flounced down.  Phoenix and Ayame burst out laughing.  Jun pouted.

"It's bad enough that he and Kristen were put in the same cabin!" Jun continued, seeming to not notice Phoenix and Ayame.  "But now I'm stuck with these little kids and there's nothing I can do about it!" Joana and Lauren then walked over to Jun, their faces indicating that they had a plan to get rid of her for the time being.

"Hey, Jun," Lauren began.  "Me and Joana have an idea."

"Why don't you go talk to the counselors," Joana started.

"And see if they'll let you change cabins?" Lauren finished.  Jun then got to her feet.

"Maybe I'll do that!" Jun answered.  She then marched over to the door, opened it, and was soon gone.

"Oh, she'll be gone for a while," Joana said as she unpacked her GBA.

"Good one," Ayame congratulated them.

In the Red Roses cabin

"Don't even think about it, Izumi!" Heather threatened as Izzy was about to go into computer-talk mode.  "I have *takes deep breath* a headache.  And I'm not *takes deep breath* going to put up with it." Izzy frowned and went back to unpacking.  Tai smiled slightly while John burst out laughing.  Heather then sighed and walked out the door.

In the White Roses cabin

Joe sat to one side of the cabin as he watched Kari, Lyekka, and Delilah casually unpacking their things.  He then let out a large sneeze.  Kari turned towards Joe.

"Your allergies acting up again?" she asked.  Joe nodded and wiped his nose.  "Do you want me to go get you some tissues?"  Joe shook his head.  (erm, let's just move on.  There's not much happening here, obviously.)

In the Lily cabin

Hikali sweat dropped as she watched T.K. and Davis, both hauled up in a corner.

"Uh, okay," was all that Kali said.  Artemis blinked.

"Is there something that I missed?" he asked.  T.K. and Davis remained silent.

"Well, this cabin certainly is the center of activity," Kali said sarcastically as she did her best to disregard them and go back to her unpacking.

In the Tulip cabin

Virgil panicked as he saw Heather making hand signals for him to get the suitcase.  He then got an idea.

"I'm a little tea pot, short and stout..." he sang.  Kristen, Matt and Keiko turned and stared at him.  Heather snuck in and grabbed the suitcases.
