England is a scenic country with its rolling hills, countryside villages, cottages and village pubs!
England doesnt recive much snow (apart from up North and the hills) due to it low height in places.

The last widespread snow

On March 12th 2004 just as the evening started to set in many western English areas started to see flakes falling from the sky. 2 Hours later there were severe sleet/snow blizzards as an active Atlantic front knocked into cold Scandivian air. Slowly the front moved Eastwards engulfing Eastern areas in snow at about 11PM.

The next morning..........

There was occasional slushy sleet patches on the floor at that was about it down here! Some Western and Northern areas still had snow remaining.

On January 29th a very active weather front swept down from the North causing quick 5 minute blizzard thunderstorms! Sadly I was alway but appaerently at my house there were three cracks of thunder in January! Sadly the snow lasted for a pathetic amount of time and By Thursday afternoon it had mostly dissapered down here

We have to go back 3 years to get a significant widespread snow event (where snow accumalted for more then 4 days)

I cant remeber this to well but it was just after christmas 2001. A Northerley had set in the day before (i think!). I remeber going to bed, it was darn cold! I remeber waking up in the morning and tierdly stareing out the window and BANG there was a couple inches of snow on the lawn. yay!!

The synoptic setup and some pictures are below
