The name Dr. Midnight has been passed down from hero to her for some time now. The newest Midnight as she calls herself dropped the Dr. from her name when she killed her mentor, the previous Dr. Midnight. She killed him because he was working with the rebels and for doing this she was inducted into the Justice Lords as Midnight the next day.
