Art of craft ? The skill of the hairdresser is a combination of the two; the art of creation the skill of the cut, an eye for style and the precision to turn that vision into reality.  The cutting edge on this spread was provided by Ollie, a young North Londoner who served his apprenticeship at the Knightsbridge salon of Smile, Ollie describes his work as "inovative without being silly "  and lays great stress on "well-cut hair that really suits each individual."  The photos show a cross-section of his  cutting, male and female.  Ollie has recently left Smile to set up on his own, possibly in the basement of Axion's new off-Carnaby Street clothes shop.  words - Robert Elms
