It can surely be no coincidence that Mal is the French word for bad. Perhaps the wettest character to grace Ramsay Street since Stonefish fell into Lassiters Lake. Indeed the phrases Mal Kennedy and Exciting Storyline were anonymous with each other throughout his appearances in the show. It could have all been so different. When he arrived he shot Lou Carpenter, and the other residents loved him for it. Surely a career as an ace marksman or hired assassin could have followed. But no Mal chose to goto school and spend the entire time looking too old to be there. Then he shacked up with Danni before finally, allegedly quitting Australia.

In fact the only mentions of him now are mysterious phone calls from England purporting to be Mal. But only a total fool would leave sunny OZ and move to drizzle soaked England. (OK so maybe that is what Mal would do) However it's more likely the whole Mal, England thing is a huge cover story. In reality the whole Kennedy clan got so bored of him they gave him a clout round the head then hid him in the basement. They now fake phone calls to throw busybodies like Harold and Michelle off the scent. It's only a matter of time until 'Chelle does find him, and the body in the basement storyline becomes the biggest in Neighbours history.
