Hi, I'm Lothlorien, for no other reason than I have always loved Lord Of The Rings. I know it isn't a persons name but I have always liked it and so I used it as my user name. My real name is Dave. I have been a fan of Runrig since 1995 when a workmate loaned me a tape of The Big Wheel. The one which grabbed my attention was Abhainn an t-Sluaigh. The rest took no time at all to grow on me and soon I was buying the cd's. The thing which really surprised me though was that my wife Viv liked this new sound too. Up to that point our musical tastes were like calcium carbonate and jarlsberg and I had always wanted to find something we could enjoy together. And here it was, not only a music and a passion we both could share but also linked to the magical place we are both strangely drawn to.......Scotland.  We first saw the band at the saddest time which was Donnie's leaving gig at Manchester, so although we were really pleased to see and hear our heroes, we left with a hint........no, not a hint.......a real feeling of loss and sadness. We thought we would never see them again. Of course, and to our delight, we did, many times. The most memorable being the 30th at Stirling and we hope to continue to do so for a long time yet.
Also to come out of this union of music, passion, and scenic wonder were the friends we have met because of it all, one of which has put this web site together, and the friendships we have made will last a lifetime. I would like to thank the band and all who make the Runrig machine work for filling a dark hole in our world with light toward which we will continue to run.
My name is Marc, and the reason why you see a mike is on the pic is simple. I'm doing a Radio show in Luxemburg, where I live. On a local station, kind of spare time DJ. I fell in love with Scotland and Runrig in '98, when I first visited the great north. Since I didn't stop to haste me back few times a year. Though till now I have never seen Runrig play on their home grounds. But this will change in Edinburgh this year! I also run a distillery in Luxembourg, no not whisky, we call it Schnaps and it is made of all sorts of fruit and has different flavours. If you get lost around here feel free to come along and say hello!
Hi my name's skyeman121 (John) alias 'The Doctor' !!   I first discovered Runrig around the time of ' The Cutter and the Clan' album in 1985. The music and the lyrics attracted me instantly and I have followed their progress ever since. I have been to many concerts my first being at the Edinburgh Playhouse when up for a lads weekend stag do in 1986. My hobbies of hillwalking and camping often brought me up to Scotland at every available holiday, travelling up from my home in Southport Merseyside, with Runrig blaring out on my long journeys north.  Often I would mix my holidays with a couple of concerts wherever possible. I always knew one day I would live in the place I love and in March 2003 I finally moved to Portree on the Isle of Skye to live the dream, happily running a small Bed & Breakfast on the original 'Stamping Ground'.  I named the B & B  Sandgrounder after my time in Southport.  A Sandgrounder is a person local to the town of Southport.  I moved up to Skye with my partner Anne who also enjoys Runrig's music ( although not as daft as me lol) . I have met many friends through my association with Runrig through the messageboard, chatroom and at concerts and long may it continue. Slainte.
My name is Heather (Fraoch), I first discovered Runrig through our local radio station CFM, they kept playing the Greatest Flame and I thought oh I love that voice and found out it was Runrig. A few weeks before I had been offered two Runrig tickets for free and I turned them down. (I wish I had gone now).  We spend all our holidays on the Isle of Skye and have been going for quite a few years now. I would say Runrig were the best thing to happen to me as I have met so many new friends at concerts and on the chat room. My photo was taken on the ferry to Harris and North Uist. Best concerts were Donnie's last one at Stirling, Barrowlands and of course the big one, the 30th anniversary at Stirling.
