My Dream Machine
The road hog
This beast of a machine cost me £15 to buy bargain! £150 to transport mind you but still worth it. I was so hyped when I got it, OK so you could break into the car through the rusted hole in the floor, and the only thing that worked was the horn and the wind screen wipers (hours of fun). But the potential was always rampant. It took 3 months of tinkering to figure out why the engine wouldn’t start and a further 3 weeks of kicking myself for not seeing it sooner, (had 2 ignition wires the wrong way round, all that was happening was everything got backed up and started to melt). When the street was empty I jumped in and started it up, little backfiring here and there but it gave a meaty VAROOM to show it was healthy, (actually forgot to put the exhaust on) and off I went with a jerk and a jolt. All I can say is it was a good thing I installed the brakes when I did, nearly careened right into the back of another car. My mate drove it back to my sisters back garden, she was as excited as I was about the test run, she was beside herself with hysteria. But in the end it wasn’t to be, my sister wanted her garden back so I had to get rid of the mini, and not having any power tools I had to use a hammer a chisel, brute strength and ignorance. It was my 4 wheeled Harley though...
