Congressional Parliament
ISSUED: DECEMBER 29, 2003 2013 CST (-0600 GMT)
Statement from Secretary-General
"Speaking on behalf of the new Congressional Parliament, we whole-heartedly applaud President Al Mamoun's move to dismantle the military base in its Occidentale province as stipulated by the Occidentale Convention. As a result, the matter of Forum Resolution 17 may be put to rest.

"However, we are greatly alarmed by the decision of East El-Hussaq to break the Riksholm Treaty. In spite of the previous CP administration's distaste for the treaty, it was ratified into international law and as such must be followed. We call upon the enforcers of the Riksholm Treaty to exercise restraint; and East El-Hussaq, along with other adherents of the Riksholm Treaty, to abide by the document for the time being.

"The Secretary-General will examine this issue as his first priority in the new year. Together we the Congressional Parliament along with the enforcers and adherents of the Riksholm Treaty can design a method to bring about possible Coneorikspolitik and El-Hussaqi reunification."
