THE TV TITLE
Orphaned...but adopted by Big Poppa Pat

*WCW really dropped the ball on this one.  They got rid of their "Third Title Belt."  It may not seem like much, but it was really important.  Allow me to spell it out this way:

There are a lot of wrestlers in WCW who now, because of the abolishment of the WCW TV Title, have no real title left to compete for.  Case in point: The Demon.  Underneath that Gene Simmons face paint is a pretty talented, although somewhat unrefined,  big man.  Let's weigh his options.  He's not "US Title material" at this point, as he still needs a lot of work before competing for the company's #2 belt.  He currently has no tag team partner, so he can't strive for the WCW Tag Team Title.  He's too big for the WCW Cruiserweight Title.  Sure, he could win the WCW Hardcore Title, but not even I would admit to being the WCW Hardcore Champion.  Basically, poor Mr. Demon has nothing to compete for.  If WCW had kept their TV Title, it would give numerous young wrestlers (Demon, the Misfits in Action, Shawn Stasiak, and Chuck Palumbo to name a few) a chance to compete for a title, which in return could help them get over with the crowd and involve them in storylines.  Apparently Vince Russo does not share my same view, so he dropped the WCW TV Title off at the orphanage, along side the WCW 6-man Tag Team Title and the WCW Women's Heavyweight Title.  Well, I can't do anything to save the latter two, but I can save the TV Title, by officially recognizing it here at The Patcave.

What I did was this: At Slamboree, Curt Hennig wrestled "The Perfect One" Shawn Stasiak in a match that I deemed worthy of being for the Unofficial TV Title.  Stasiak won the match, so is now WCW's Unofficial TV Champion.  There are very few rules, but they are important.  1) The TV Champ must defend the belt within 30 days, or the title is stripped, and I give it to someone else.  2) The TV Title is up for grabs in any of the Champion's televised matches, unless I rule otherwise (Ex: The TV Champ is sent out to do a squash to, say, Goldberg, or some other wrestler he cannot possibly beat).  Another exception is if the TV Champ wrestles, say, the US Champ, and loses.  The TV Champ retains his belt.  3) If the TV Champ wins either the US Title or the World Title during his title reign, then the TV Title is stripped and given to someone else.  That's all there is to it.

So here now is the NEW Title Lineage for the WCW Unofficial TV Title, sponsered by your friends at The Patcave...
