In My Heart

There is a pocket
	in my heart
and you can crawl inside it,
	if you like,
		and curl up there.
You can draw my heart's walls
		against your body
			when you are cold
		and feel their warm pulse
			against your skin.
When you stir in your sleep,
I will feel the tingle,
	the tickle,
	inside me.
I will not forget
	that you are there.
You will be wrapped up
	and secure,
my heart will be your new womb,
my laughter will be your new music,
"I love you" will be your new first words.
Your new first steps will be
	toward the sunlight
	and open arms.

But that's only if you leave--
	but you can stay,
and I'll protect you and keep you safe,
	because to get to you,
they'd have to get past me,
	and I've put you
	    in the most well-guarded place
		I know.
