Me I am not like you, but that doesnt mean Im like them. Im younger but I understand more, Older but smaller, wise but afraid. I watch you when youre not looking I avert my eyes when you do. I wish people would touch me. I like hugs, and watching X-Files in a dark dorm room I cry during Disney movies I remember the faces of friends who dont call, and whose silences intimidate me. I like dying my hair red. I play with dolls. Ive fallen in love. I curl up with novels and the blanket Grandma made me when there is a blizzard. I imagine my future children I wonder if they imagine me. I like babies, rain, walking in the woods, alone. I like breezes through open windows. I like sitting on the floor, and drinking tea, driving, alone, listening to folk music. I dont like not knowing how to end this. I like that I dont have an ending. - May 2, 2001
