When the Sun first saw the Moon,
He knew she had to be his.
And while his rays burned,
His heart yearned
For just one gentle kiss.
His soul was fiery and hot,
Hers was calm and serene,
But when they came together,
Their differences mattered not,
Though neither knew
What it would mean.
While the Sun danced with the Moon,
His fiery passion ablaze,
She kept him entranced and stole
His heart with her tender gaze.
Yet neither knew what they had begun,
The night the Moon agreed
To dance with the Sun.
For from their union,
Sparks were born,
To light the night,
As well as the morn.
They named their children Stars,
For nothing less would do,
They were told 'Power is what you are,
and never will your time be through.'
And still the Moon, Sun, and their children live
Destined never to die,
Unless the rivers cease to flow,
The winds refuse to blow,
Or the stars fall from the sky . . .
