First of all, I'd like to apologize to all talented authors who have tried to submit in the past several months.  I'm still dealing with massive computer problems, but I am slowly trying to get this site underway again.  I am beginning to accept submissions once more at my new address: The_Real_Sedeara@yahoo.com.  Unfortunately, all stories and/or comments that were sent to Sedeara@chickmail.com, Sedeara@xoommail.com, Sedeara@email.com or Sedeara@hotmail.com have been lost.  Please feel free to resubmit and know that if you were one of the unlucky authors whose story never appeared on my page even after you had carefully followed the guidelines and submitted your work, its inability to be published was not due to any deficiency in the story or any personal refusal on my part.  I encourage you to resubmit your work.  And of course I'm still looking for new talent.

Guidelines for Submitting to Sadira's Library

E-Mail Message

With your work, send an e-mail that is separate from the story.  It should include:

  1.  Your e-mail address
  2.  The title of your work as you want it displayed on my page
  3.  Your name as you want it displayed on my page.  If you are using a pen name, it is not necessary for you to tell me your true name.
  4.  A short description of your work to include across from the link. (Optional)
  5. Special requests. (See "Appearance of Work"- Optional)
  6. A short description of yourself for my "meet the author" section. (Optional)
  7. If your story has illustrations, you can send me the links for those as well. (Optional)
Types of Work Accepted

  1. Your work can be in the form of poetry, script, novella, novel, short story, or essay
  2. Stories may take place throughout the Aladdin universe.  That is, a story could be about Aladdin and Jasmine's children grown or the Sultan's childhood.  As long as the world of Disney's Aladdin is connected, I'll consider your story
  3. If a story is a crossover, that is, a story involving other copy-righted, non-Aladdin characters, please indicate that the story is a crossover in your description.  This is helpful for audiences who may not be familiar with the non-Aladdin characters you are using.
  4.  Do not send incomplete stories.  By this, I mean don't send me chapters 1-3 of your story while you're still writing chapters 4-6.  This does not apply for separate stories within a single series.  For example, I will publish the first story in a trilogy while you work on sequels.
  5.  Be creative!  Feel free to give birth to new characters or kingdoms.  To use the characters/kingdoms created by other fan-fic authors, e-mail them to obtain permission.
Content of Your Stories

Mature content is acceptable; Lewd content is not. (i.e.: explicit sex scenes, fowl language, etc--Don't waste your talent or force the people of your story to act out of character)  I reserve the right to reject any writing I find offensive.  In the case that I decide against publishing a story, I will send it back to the author with the reason for my dissatisfaction.  The author will then have the option of editing the unacceptable content and re-submitting.

Appearance of Your Stories

  1.  If you would like to request certain page colors for your story, let me know! (i.e.: white text, blue background).  If no requests are made, your story will be black on white like this page.
  2. The default font size is 12 pt.  Specify if you'd like your text displayed in a different size. (Note, this is written in 12 pt; the headings are in 14 pt.)
  3. CAREFULLY PROOF-READ AND SPELL CHECK YOUR STORIES!  Although I'm an English major, I won't have the time to do it for you.  Remember, you are sharing your work with the world!
  4. Finally, if you are dissatisfied by the appearance of your published story, e-mail me!
Codes

HTML codes are acceptable, but if you prefer not to use HTML, use the following suggestions for getting ideas across:

Sending Your Story!

  1. Send your stories via e-mail to: The_Real_Sedeara@yahoo.com
  2. You can send your story directly by e-mail by cutting and pasting into the Compose window.  For long stories, send them by chapters.  Specify in the "subject" box of your e-mail which installment you've sent.  (i.e: Julie's fan-fic chapt. 1-4, or Jenny's fan-fic, 1/5, etc.)
  3. If you send your story as an attached file, HTML and TXT attachments work the best.  If you use another file extension, let me know which program you were working with.  If the extension isn't HTML or TXT, I can't guarantee the story will look the same on my page as it did in your original program.
  4. OR, if your story is already published on another site, send me the URL and I will link it to my library.
Seeing Your Story Published

If the above guidelines have been adhered to, you should expect to see your story up on my page in 1-3 weeks.  If I am delayed past that, I'll e-mail you a notice.  Also, feel free to e-mail me if you aren't sure whether a fan-fic got through.

That about covers it!  Again, feel free to e-mail me with any questions or concerns.  Now, get those ideas flowing!
