From the extended recorder family, Elizabeth Shearouse brings the lively soprano and graceful alto. While specialising in Renaissance and Baroque repertoire, she can include other selections when the occasion calls for it. Elizabeth enjoys performing in a Renaissance costume to give her music a more authenic flavour.
As background music during a meal, the recorder is an ideal instrument because it is quiet enough to allow normal conversation between guests. Due to its gentle nature, recorder music is best suited to intimate gatherings with no more than 150 guests, although allowances may be made for situations in which guests are relatively close together (such as a church) or in a room with superior acoustics. |
