OK, here's a bit of background on the Commodore BT1, because most people haven't ever heard of it.
The BT1 is a limited run of Commodores madespecifically for the Police Force. They are primarily powered by V8's although there are some V6's too which were used as "town cruisers" where the V8's were pursuit cars & rapid response. Some were fitted with the HSV option also.
The easiest way to describe the BT1 is that it was the body of a base model executive, but with the SS running gear, driveline and interior.
Generally speaking these car don't get looked after whislt in the care of the Police and often come with lots of rattles and broken bits & peices, undercarriage damage etc etc. However ours was a federal police car, and seems to have had a much easier life. |
