Tuesday, October 31, 2000Battle for Mondain's Skull Tonight! Event Rules
The second Battle for Mondain's Skull will take place this evening beginning at 7pm Pacific time [9pm Central; 10pm Eastern]. Contact your HML/LoY leaders for more information on meeting locations and specific times to gather in preparation of the battle. The following are the rules for the event:
1) NO POISONED WEAPONS
(Check your weapons before the battle. Anyone using a poisoned weapons
will disqualify the event and waste everyone's time. So check your
weapons and be prepared).
2) NO PETS This includes horses and summoned creatures.
3) NO LOOTING Remember this is a friendly event. This also
includes Yallum's Tower. Please only take the 'Green Chest' and not
the resources in my tower.
4) NO EXPLOSION POTIONS
5) NO RECALL OR GATING SKULL CHEST
6) NO Dragging the chest on the ground Must carry in your
backpack
7) CANNOT use animals to transport the skull chest No pack
mules, etc.
8) CANNOT use the 'ban' feature in the tower to transport the chest
9) NO DUPING the CHEST
10 DO NOT Remove the contents of the 'skull chest'
The event will start at 10pm sharp [Eastern time]. I will message the
opposing commander when we start the ritual. LOY will then go to a
shrine and attempt to extract another glyph. There are 8 shrines in
the game that hold glyphs and we already have the glyph of honesty, so
you can count out the chaos shrine and the shrine of honesty. I will
post some clues as to which shrine we will be visiting but it will be
very discrete [Ed. note: See TRC
MB for these clues]. Once I have messaged the opposing general LOY
will begin the ritual. For LOY to complete the ritual they must
perform the following steps.
1) Slay a NPC with a silver dagger
2) Place the gem inside the corpse.
3) Carve up corpse
4) Chant mantra backwards 3 times
Victory Conditions
1) HML must slay all members of LOY to stop the ritual.
After the battle with LOY forces if any HML survive they may attempt
to go to the tower and recover the lost glyphs and skull. LOY will
have no more than half of its starting force guarding the skull. For
example. Lets say LOY's force is 6 then no more than 3 may guard the
tower. ONLY surviving HML may attempt to recover the skull from the
tower, therefore HML doesn't need double characters on the stone. I
want this battle to be a challenge but I want it also to be fair.
For clarification of any of these points, please see your respective leaders. Also, Zircon is in need of an event photographer [two would be better] so any non-combatants interested should contact him.
Happy Halloween! :)

The Royal Crimson Guard (RCG) Makes TRC Proud!
Or, in other words, we RoXor! I showed up with Ai'ne for the hunt last night and soon after being informed that we were going to the ice dungeon to obliterate the ratmen, I was also informed that the RCG would be handling the rear guard. Looking around, I realized that there were only four of us in red, and only two [Yorgrace and Jad] were actually RCG. "I'm not RCG," I told Gracie. "You are now," she said. Honestly, I have to admit I was not happy about that at first [for two reasons: one, RCG was originally created to handle PvP should a group outing run up against PKs in Fellucca, and I hate PvP, so I've always resisted being labeled RCG; and, two, I was lagging very very badly]. First I protested, then I thought about it and changed my mind [girl's prerogative, ha!]. But, even so, I still thought this was going to be a disaster.
Why? Because in the past we [TRC as a whole, not the RCG in particular] have had a hard time keeping our own little group together and headed in the right direction. So I was a leeeeeeeeetle doubtful that we could successfully herd the large group of KS and others that made up the hunt group. Well, you know what? We did it. Now, granted, this is probably partly because KS is a cohesive group and good at following directions. But still....for our purpose, we worked well together and got the job done. I was not only proud of us TRC last night, I was proud to be part of RCG. So thank you to Yorgrace and Jad and Elerond [who is not RCG, but joined in bravely on his first night in TRC! Welcome!]: I was proud to be wearing red last night.
Have a great day :)

Hunting Ore Elementals; Allied Hunt Tonight
Last night the court gathered in Yew; turnout was sparse, however, so the assembled members decided to go rouse Or E from her sleep to dig up Valorite Elementals for their amusement. Here is the report from Queen Ruby on the evening's outing:
Queen Ruby
writes: "We got lucky
and dug up a valorite ele. Merc was stupified that he couldn't use
magic against it, hehe.
It was Or E digging, Jad, Bastet, Mercon, and Phoenix. They also got a
copper and golden ele.
Or E was in a bad mood because she got woken up to come dig up ore
again, but was in a much better mood when she dragged home over 60
valorite and about 40 gold ore."
Queen Ruby also put Bastet on the TRC guildstone, as the Elders have accepted both Bastet and Elerond into the guild. Please welcome Bastet and Elerond into the Court!
Tonight TRC joins KS and others in their weekly allied guild hunt. Meet at 6pm Pacific at the Magincia Parliament Building.
Have a wonderful day :)

TRC Guildnight Tonight; Pics of Faith & Cryptoknight's Wedding
Tonight is TRC's guildnight. This week Queen Ruby will be holding court in Yew at the Abbey, another old stomping ground. Please meet inside near the banking area.
Last night I had the honor to attend the wedding of Faith and Cryptoknight in the Star Chamber of T2A [it's a lovely place, if you've never been there]. Father Paul, who presided over the ceremony, did such a wonderful write-up that I'm not even going to bother trying to do my own so: Click here to view Father Paul's pics of Faith & Cryptoknight's Wedding.
TRC is also fortunate to have a pair of recruits up for membership at this time: Elerond and Bastet. If you see either, please be sure to say hello and introduce yourself. The Council of Elders is currently gathering information on their membership and will be voting soon.
Thanks, and have a great day!

Faith & Cryptoknight to Wed Tonight!; Hide Contest Results
A reminder that Faith & Cryptoknight, of HML, are going to be wed tonight in the Star Chamber of T2A. Gates will be provided by Pug at the Papua bank starting at 8pm Central time. To see the original invitation, scroll down to the last news section.
Yesterday afternoon was Queen Ruby's Hide Gathering Contest in furtherance of Or E's quest to make GM Tailor. Unfortunately, turnout was...shall we say...minimal. Ai'ne spent the 4 hours allotted gathering hides and came in first at around 2100. Jad poked his head in during the last hour and managed to come up with another 600 or so. Combined with the other nearly 1000 total dropped off at the beginning of the contest by Phoenix [600], Narm [240] and Merria [60], Or E ended up with around 3700 hides in all. Because she was the only one working during the length of the contest, Ai'ne refused to take the top prize of 25k; however, she and Or E did agree on a per-hide award and so Ai'ne took home a check for 10k, and Jad took home somewhere around 2400gp. Thanks to those who dropped off hides and contributed to Or E's effort. Of course, further donations would be much appreciated as Or E strives to reach GM Tailor status!
Thanks and have a great day :)

Queen Ruby Announces Contest; Faith & Cryptoknight to Wed
Or E is in need of hides to get to GM status; therefore Queen Ruby has posted this notice on behalf of Or E:
A Contest for TRC and all her allies:
WANTED!
Hides, and lots of them. I offer to the people who gather the most
hides some prizes!
MOST HIDES: 25,000 GP
SECOND MOST: 17,500 GP
THIRD MOST: 10,000 GP
All hide contributions will move me closer to my goal of Grand Master
Tailoring. Once that goal has been reached ALL PARTICIPANTS will
receive a set of leather or studded armor of their choice! You will be
proud to be seen in this armor, for it will bear *my* signature!
WHEN: Sunday starting at 1pm CST
WHERE: Starting at the KI worship (Knight Industries)
HOW LONG: Until 5pm CST
RULES: What rules?
You can hunt solo or in groups (the prize money is not per person
however. If you choose to hunt in a group, you have to split the prize
money amongst yourselves)
Anyone in TRC, KS, VK, E/S, LoY, HML, TCT can join in the hunt. Heck,
as long as I know the person is a friend of someone in these guilds
(IE: You introduce him/her to me as a participant), anyone can join in
the hunt. I ain't proud, I need the hides.
WHERE CAN WE HUNT: Anywhere in Britannia, old, new, Felluca, Trammel.
Like I said, I ain't proud, I'll even take ratman hides.
FAQ:
"Hunt for HIDES?? You mean, kill cows? How DULL! I am a WARRIOR
for Christ sakes!"
No duh Sherlock. Take your warrior selves out to hunt some dragons and
wyverns then. Those that aren't up to dragons, ratmen give hides too.
Even the ones that took out half the party at the ice dungeon.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED: A recall rune to KI and a pair of scissors. When
you are at hide capacity, just bring them back to me and return to the
hunt. The scissors can be used on the hides to halve their weight. You
may also want to take a rune with you that you can mark over so you
can always recall to the hot hide spots.
SEE YOU SUNDAY!
Or E of Knight Industries
Faith and Cryptoknight
have also announced that their upcoming marriage will take place this
coming Monday:

Old Home Night in Jhelom; Allied Guild Hunt Tonight
TRC got together for guild night last evening as Queen Ruby held court in Jhelom. Turnout was thin [and got thinner: a lot of people were extremely laggy] but being back in Jhelom did bring back some fond memories. Here's a snapshot that should bring a tear to your eye, too:
Ahh.....the memories.....:) Join us for the next Guild night when Queen Ruby holds court in Yew, yet another old stomping ground. For fun, we are going to leave trapped boxes laying around and see how long it takes Jad to open one, teehee!
Tonight is the allied guild hunt. Anyone wishing to join KS on their weekly hunt should show up at 6pm Pacific, Magincia Parliament Building. And if you should see a lady there named Bastet, be sure to say hello: she is Orion's newest recruit for membership in TRC and she makes delicious fishsteaks :)
Have a wonderfully fabulous day!

Guild Night Tonight; Masquerade Ball Oct. 29
Greetings! Tonight is TRC guild night. We'll be visiting one our old stomping grounds: Jhelom! So come ready to RP as Queen Ruby holds Court, 6pm until whenever [at the Bank]. Remember, please, TRC characters*only* [and those involved in a storyline with a TRC character]. Thanks!
Also, if HML/LoY are planning a battle night, I would like to know as far in advance as possible, both so I can update the event calendar to properly reflect the correct activity, and also so I can "advertise" the correct event here in the news and/or we can plan events for guild night. If I don't hear plans by Sunday night, I will go ahead with planning for guild night. Sooner would, of course, be better :) This is just to avoid the confusion I'm sensing among members on just what exactly is happening from week to week; advance notice will help turnout at all events, I think, which is my goal. Thanks!
And, finally, in case you missed it yesterday, Princess S'karlett is busy planning a Masquerade Ball in Celebration of All Hallow's Eve. Below is a sneak-peek at the invitation that will be going out to guests soon.
So Mark your calendars, plan your costume, and pick your date [if you want one, hehe].
And have a great day :)

Yallum Makes an Appearance; Allied Hunt Tonight
Last night Queen Ruby held court in Nujel'm. With members of the Royal Crimson Guard watching over her, she gave audience to members of the court and friends. Eventually Zircon approached and Queen Ruby asked him about the Glyph of Honesty. We then decided to take a trip to the shrine itself to investigate and make plans, which is where Yallum made his appearance. To read more about the RP events last evening, click here.
The allied hunt takes place this evening, as TRC joins KS and others for the weekly outing. Meet at 6pm Pacific at the Magincia Parliament Building.
And have a great day :)

TRC Guild Night Tonight; Event Calendar
Tonight is TRC's guild-night. Queen Ruby will be holding Court in Nujel'm this week. Please meet beginning at 6pm Pacific at the Nujel'm bank. If you don't have a rune there, you can use the rune-books located on the top floor of the Newcastle keep. Remember that this is TRC only [and those involved in storylines with TRC characters] so bring your TRC character tonight and be prepared to do some RPing. Thanks!
I'm also almost done with an Event Calendar that's going to go up on the website in the next few days. It will have regular events listed and links to more information [such as weekly hunts, etc] and specially-colored links to one-time events and other things of interest going on around the shard. If you have any events for October that you would like included now, or as they arise, please let me know and I'll include them. Thanks :)
Have a great day!

Results From Last Wednesday's Scavenger Hunt; Elvis Sighted!
Sorry for taking so long to update the website with the results of last Wednesday's Scavenger Hunt. Unofficially, I blame a combination of laziness and trouble uploading the pictures; officially, I blame Jad :) So without further ado....
Last Wednesday's allied guild hunt saw members of KS, VK and TRC, as well as guests from AoV and others, forming into teams to see who could return the most items from the following list in two hours:
1 coconut from an orc;
1 bone armor set of gloves from a skeleton in a cemetery;
1 x-bow from a brigand;
1 crystal ball from any monster;
20 drake hides;
4 earth elemental rubies;
1 ettin wooden club;
1 jug of mongbat cider;
2 legbones from a skeleton mage;
20 logs from corpsers;
1 magic want of any type from a lich;
1 orcish lord helm;
1 orc pizza;
1 human torso from a zombie;
and, finally, "Proof from your team that Elvis lives! This can be
anything that could have been from Elvis, or even a picture of the
king himself."
Well, when all was said and done two groups had found 11 items on the list; three groups had found 12 items on the list; and only one group had attempted to find proof of Elvis. Nobody found the actual Elvis [more on that in a bit]. Therefore the top groups split the prize in a three-way tie: congratulations to the teams of Zoe, Woton, and Grand Mystic!
Nobody found Elvis, but he *does* exist...I know, because I was there :) Click here to find out what was...uh...shakin'...while you were out Scavenger Hunting.
And, last but not least, I've finally gotten around to archiving the news, hehe. You may also notice that I've changed the link under "Quick Links" to "Archived News" rather than "Last Week's News." That's just a tad more accurate, don't you think? :)
Don't forget that Tuesday night is TRC guild night! If the second battle for Mondain's skull takes place tomorrow night, then we will give way for that; otherwise, Queen Ruby Flash will be holding court in Nujel'm. Stay tuned for details of either event in tomorrow's news.
Thanks, and have a splendiferous week :)
