ABOUT ME |
The bulk of the "About Me" bit appears on my main website, "Open Your Mind!!" and with that in "mind", I'll try to explain about me in relation to this site in particular. The basics first, 40 something, married, three kids. The Sacred Path came about after I had a need to expand upon the viewpoints I discussed on Open Your Mind but was limited to keeping things superficial there as that was the initial intention of the site. I am not religious although there are many aspects of several religions that I agree with and I respect everyones right to believe whatever they wish to believe and have their wishes respected. I hope you will respect mine by not quoting your respective religions at me in the guestbook. The content of this site is based on my own personal experience and understanding of Life in general. The articles are not as profound as I would like them to be as I have difficulty translating a multidimensional (?) thought system into print and I always get the impression that as I try to define things that the "trying" actually defeats the purpose of life which is experiencing things for what they are and that reasoning in itself may be the major handicap we humans have to endure. Anyway, back to "me". I've been aware that I have a Path to walk for more than a decade now, the purpose of which is often clear in one instant and very uncertain in the next. During times of perceived security and stability this uncertainty is satisfying and curiously reassuring. At other times it can be quite disconcerting! My views on Life are eclectic and change as my experiences/knowledge increase and I think that is good, to remain static and attached to one particular mind-set only serves to promote insularity, at which point one's Spiritual Development has, in my humble opinion, to falter at the very least. My Path is not the only Path, it is one of many and mine and mine alone. You have your Path to follow and my intention is to give of my experiences freely in the hope that one person may benefit from reading about them. I only ask two things of you. Live a Life of Meaning and sign the guestbook if you have time and inclination!! Namasté, Alan |
