The Floating Island, the home of the chaos emeralds and the mighty Knuckles. The floating island is an island suspended in mid-air using the power of the master emerald to keep it afloat. The floating island was once the location of a massive tribe of echidnas who were all destroyed apart from three by Chaos a liquid demon who destroyed the echidnas for destroying the chao which he protected. The floating island has a long history of echidna guardians selected to protect the master emerald.
