Super Sonic is the result of sonic coming into contact with too much chaos energy or experiences extreme pain or anger. Super sonic is sonic morphed into a super enhanced state, he is able to fly, create energy fields and shoot energy beams from his eyes, the only down side to this is that in this state sonic is over-run by evil emotions and he is out of control concentrating usually on destruction.
